till 18 I was well known among my peers and teacher for my concentration,I scored 95% in my High school and secured under 300 rank among 1 million students appearing for a test for a Engineering school but in past 2-3 years I have become highly disoriented and have symtoms of ADHD(all those written on wikipedia article match to me).I even scrolled down 2-3 times to read comments while watching this video.I can barely concentrate and my academics has suffered badly.I forget dates and faces .
great video i have adhd and i really understand i feel like everything you said hits home my partner suffers because he does not understand me i need to be on medication but doctors are so relentless to prescribe them due to the wrong people abusing them and this is so sad thanks for the video and i will keep my head up got a new appointment in january hope this doctor helps me , and gets me on the right medication combo, thank you
I am currently a senior at a private college in florida. I have tried many types of medications and like yourself, I feel the same symptoms which is a zombie. People also have told me that i am boring. I thought that may be the last time i took meds, so i stopped. I am learning how to cope with it independently now. What i am learning is that it is never too late to strategize how to cope with this disorder that we live with and put others through.
I think you are the most articulate person and so dead on about your description of people with ADHD and describing it to the normal person. Thank you so much for taking your time and composing this video! I hope it helps my children and their friends understand the unusual things they do and say. I know it is not easy for their friends sometimes. Thank you for putting yourself out there for people like me who just can not.
This was an excellent description of the symptoms of AD/HD! I still have difficulty recognizing this as a "disorder." In years past I experienced such confusion and as a result, pain. Being diagnosed with ADD six months ago has made an incredible difference. I have found Adderall to be very effective. However, its efficacy was short lived. I remain on Adderall yet believe the single greatest component of finding success is through education of this "disorder." Greatly appreciated, Jerome.
i have ADHD, and that was excellent! Straight to the point! Been wanting to do a similar video in Danish. Haven't done it yet, though, been too distracted :D
that was a fantastic explanation of adhd, I am absolutly convinced that I have adhd but i have not yet been properly diagnosed, i get a bit depressed sometimes because i cannot read books or anything like that because of my problems with focus and things like that, you explained the positive qualities of adhd really well, did you find that the medication helped you at all?
sometimes i get a little bit sick of being unable to focus on things and what you said about being an outsider rang true.
Meds helped to a degree, but overall it changed the fabric of who I was. I felt like a zombie sapped of all creativity, and for the first time in my life people told me I was boring. It also messes with your eat and sleep cycle.
That said, give it a try and see how it affects you (it affects everyone differently). If you see positive changes in your life, stick with it.
I'm trying to get into Med School right now (sans meds), and that's about the level of ambition and focus I'm aspiring to.
i kinda feel on the medicne(im taking vyvance) tired and sleepy and i know i should'nt be. they say its a little diffrenet in girls cuz i was always quiet and shy but did'nt have any problems making friends.
i start me meds next week like nd by sounds of wat u show ere m8 u hve got adhd..my dad n grandad have bin a bit of mess ,i guess bein 17 iv just cought it on time cos my dad is on anti drespents n grandad pysctsco ..life feels differnt understandin adhd
i no its hard to describe man i tried tellin my mum to try get her to undrestand even she doesnt that suprises me cos i tell her everthing now iv only be disnogsed wen i was 17 nd i try explain to people nd family but i seems they dont understand ,it makes me feel a bit alone reli
I appreciate your video. It was somewhat serious. It was different than how I approach it but I'm thinking people who believe it's a disorder might appreciate your approach. Check out my videos on the subject. Including switch swatch that's a good one. (I mention DaVinci)
Really great video. I get tired of reading about all of the cliches, generalizations, and biased viewpoints on ADHD. Your video, while brief, was awesome.I especially like the adult viewpoint; people seem to only related ADHD as a childhood disorder, and present it that way. Obviously, ADHD in adults is manifested in a different way. Thanks!
It's kind of weird finally hearing the sound of your voice after reading you for so long. This is a really outstanding video, and I hope it gets the audience it deserves.
Jerome, nicely done. You have a twitch in your voice that makes me think you have ADHD. :P And I had trouble sitting still and paying attention to the video (because I have ADHD). :P
you know.....tying super good music with adhd information....i'll guarantee you no one's paying attention to your blabbling! im kidding. this video is wayy better than any information pamphlet. kudos romey.

Good info. I feel both super-empowered and debilitated by the way I am, but I wouldn't want to change.
