@tteu123 Yes the books are magnificent, but however, the movies are great Hollywood productions. Most movies that are made from books are never quite as good as the books. But the Guy Ritchie versions are also great.

@tteu123 I have read them too, and I can't but disagree with you. I believe that in fact this version is very close to Doyle's version. Yes, it isn't a strict adaptation (no movies that come from books ever are), but they have to add to it that old Hollywood/movie charm. It wouldn't sell so well if they didn't. Plus, not to mention, I think that since Doyle only wrote his stories (he didn't make a play or movie with them), then we lose the tiniest things used to communicate thoughts and ideas,

This film is absolutely preposterous. I walked out on the 1st one and this is obviously fated to disappoint. There is NO similarity between Doyle's Sherlock and this rubbish. Doyle must be churning in his grave.

In fact, it makes Sherlock Holmes look like an absolute idiot and Watson as the intelligent one. All of the stories portray the exact opposite and I can assure you that Sherlock wouldn't do something as stupid as that.

And before you all start hating, I've read all of Doyle's stories.
