What strikes me the hardest about this song and video is that is is sung straight from the heart. I don't know of any other song which such power and feeling behind it.

At first, Toshi is singing and facing the audience, then midway through....he fully faces Hide. It's no longer a performance, but a farewell to a much loved friend.

I'm a guy, and I've caught myself with a tear or two streaming down my cheek almost every time I watch this.

@patrick20082008 There were statements from band members that they used techniques to relieve the stress in back and shoulders from their guitars that was similar to how hide was found. He had been out drinking and they speculated he might have had an accident while trying to help his back while intoxicated though it was reported as suicide. There was no note left.
