Ned started playing E, was interesting but not strong enough to break the ongoing F. So Ned eventually got tired of the vamp and stopped playing. This is where a leader is need to give a nod to indicate change notes. But Stomu's hair was in the way. The alternative is you stop playing and let the other guy peter out.
