Of course something is going to break. I would think U-joint. I used to have a GM Detroit Diesel 8.2L in an F700 Chassis Step Van (very large step van basically on a School Bus frame, engine and trans.) A lot of school busses in the mid-late 80s used this engine or the 8.2T turbo version. This was one of the first if not the first 4-Stroke diesel v8 from Detroit. 500 cubic inches. Hard to maintain because of special tools required. Popular in boats too.
