Actually evolution by its common non-theistic definition: "change in the genetic material of a population of organisms from one generation to the next cause through spontaneous ways (meaning unexplainable, implying they happen, but for no real purpose)" hasn't been proven. And neither has evolution been explained on chromosomal changes. When you lose a chromosome, you are most likely to die and when you gain an additional chromosome you become retarded. So that has yet been explained.

Actually there is one hard core fundamental element that needs to be explained to prove Evolution. How does an organism gain or lose a chromosome without dying or having something like down syndrome.

not to really support the author, but if you took a genetics course, you'd realize that the altercation of the dna in the forms of missense genes and the like can kill you too, depedning on the proteins and other organic bodies produced. Losing a gene results in loss of a protien being produced. While another gene might be able to try to repair the damage, depending on the stage of embryogenesis which it is occuring, it could be too late or too early to really prevent permanent harm.

I know that. I said without losing a chromosome or gene (since genes are found in chromosomes), since genes are essential in how RNA is used to create ribosomes which make proteins.

But the point is how to do you prove evolution in which entities lose or gain chromosomes are able to survive. For instance Apes have 24 chromosomes. We have 23. How the hell did we manage to exist?

Simple. The genetic code has duplications all over the place, and there's plenty of DNA which codes for nothing. All you need to do is find a nice spot where the recombination has hit a dead end and viola! evolution.

The problem with proving the theory isn't necessarily that the mechanism isn't sound, but rather we just started looking into genes 50 years ago. We barely scratched the surface. We dont' even know how we differ left from right. Personally, I think we just dont' have the tech yet

Actually, it does. Most of the time, DNA is not wrapped up in a chromosome, but bundled in a jumble in the nucleus. Chromosomes are only during cell production.

If you consider the number of Base pairs in an E. Coli, compared to Drosphilia, compared to a human, you will get a different number. You will get different numbers of genes. You can manipulate these genes by adding or deleting.

After a while, if you kept adding to the genome, it's bound to get larger and larger. thus, more xomes

But it is during cell production that genes are most vulnerable to any alternations and mutations, because there is no nuclear membrane to protect them and all cellular activity is driven to separating the sister chromatids. All sorts of viruses and chemicals can easily enter and mess up the whole process.

Especially when we are talking about Meiosis, generally it is Prophase 1 or the initial prophase of which the genes are the highest risk of mutation.

But that still doesn't explain it.

AFterall, just because copernicus couldn't /see/ the earth revolve around the sun, or plate techtonics being derived from two hypotheses both partially correct doesn't mean you can't make educated guesses.

But, you're doing the same thing. No proof doesn't deny or affirm existance. So you're in the same boat, being unable to prove it doesn't work. At least I'm trying.
