@goodole1 - this is Swiss-German....when I was in Stuttgart most of my German freinds said they could not speak or understand very much of the Swiss Germans! Of course....most Berliners do not understand the Swabisch German spoken around the Stuttgart area....pure German ( if you need to know) is around Hamburg! So I am told by a many German people.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. I was told it was not and after many hours of research it turned out that I was right and it is Swiss German. After further research I also found out it is considered a monolingual German which there are 17 different dialects.

Once again thank you. It does not take away from the wonderful sound that I enjoy so much and play daily.

Thanks for the input, in looking up your definition of Alemannic it turns out to be a group of High German dialects spoken in Alsace, Switzerland, and parts of southern Germany. This is from what I understand a monlingual German. None the less, it's still a beautiful language and the singing is great

wie würde das klingen wenn er hochdeutsche klangfarbe hätte ?

gerade bei der volksmusik sollte es auf jedenfall dialektgefärbt sein, sonst wirkt´s nicht !
