Great Job

So how are Latin frats different from the black ones? All the ones I see step and pledge the same way the historically African American ones do but I dont see you guys do anything uniquely latin... This is not meant to bash any1 or offend but Im jus wonderin y call urselves a latin fraternity if its no different from the the ones unique to the black community... Again this is a genuine question... I realize im not in a latin fraternity so i dont kno everything thats y Im asking

@tyty123479 Even though im not n a latin fraternity yet, i think i can answer ur question from what i've learned going to the meetings. U ask y they call themselves a latin frat if they do the same as the black frat. Well its the same reason that we even have black fraternities...Its race based. Its called a latin fraternity because thats what it was based on. The name "latin" has little effect on how they step...Steppin is just steppin.

@T512X but black frats are different... I go to an HBCU (Historically Black College and Universty) and Though Im not pledging I have learned a great deal about black fraternities and the different traditions and one that they take alot of pride in is stepping... and its not just stepping to them... stepping isnt something that fraternities jus do... Its unique to the black fraternities (the divine nine) and is a tradition passed down from generations past...

@T512X I would expect something different. to me watchin its kinda is like their doin it jus for fun or cool (like Vanilla Ice rapping) where as with the blk frats there is a level of pride I can see they have when steppin. I think most of the ppl in there watching wouldnt even kno a good step or stroll if the saw one. Not that I think its wrong to embrace other cultures & what not, I jus think if you're gonna single yourself out as a latin fraternity I should be able to tell

@T512X Its like a goin to a black club (by black I mean African American) and all they play is Bachata or goin to a latin club that only plays japanese pop... then its not a latin club... its a japanese club with latin ppl... wats the use of distinguishing it from the rest if you're no different... In America there is a HUGE tendancy to take thngs from black culture &it usually becomes washed out & unrecognizable & I dont want that to happen... etc Rock, Hip Hop, Stepping, R&B, the list goes on.

@tyty123479 Like i said its hispanic b-cuz of d history & d majority dat joins it. Stepping has nothing 2 do w/ it. & just b-cuz something is frm a black culture does it have 2 stay black? Dats d point of d US, d combination of cultures 2 create 1. U think mexicans r made b-cuz america sells tacos? We've got stuff taken from us 2: Tortillas, Lowriders, Churros, impanathas, panduce, encheladas, taquitos, tamales, ect. If a black man invented the traffic light does dat mean non-blacks cant use it?
