look up some videos of battle legends gameplay, it's really fun, you can do a lot of customization and you actually get to pilot them (unlike assault).

Zoids Full Metal Crash for the Gamecube looks EXACTLY LIKE most DBZ games. It kind've annoys me really... Zoids Battle Legends looks to be the best, but they screwed up the voices both human/zoidian and the zoid roars aren't the same. They got the Ligers right thank goodness...
I saw this game at video games plus, a used game store, and I figured that large mechanical robots in the shape of animals blasting the crap out of each other would be slightly fun, something like armored core. i then learned that it was tactical, i figured it would be like front mission 4, which is indeed similar, but as I can see with this review, is actually executed in a far better manner, so thanks for this review, which kept me away from such a lousy game.

Zoids is only really dead here (US). In Hong Kong, there are Kotobukiya models being sold out BEFORE they even are realised, and they each cost around $100.

I guess that only proves that even the weirdest and most obscure of shit has a fanbase somewhere. Gundam is different though in that it's still a successful and leading franchise even today. As for the voice: dialect, youtube compression, and a "standard" quality mic. Try hitting the High quality button.
If its so bad, then how come they made a life 2 size zoids YEARS before they made 1 life size gundam. Also, they have stores all over japan that only sell zoids models and such. When my family went on vacation to disney land a while ago, they had an entire shelf full zoids, without a single gundam in site. ZOIDS RULE!!!

Well since this is war, they're going to paint the machines in duller and more matte clolors. Even for such large machines, a little bit of camo goes a long way.
But I understand what you're saying, they character models and textures do look unaturally dull and bad.

Personally, I like Zoids better than I like Gundam. Still I have to say, Zoids games aren't that great. Translation and story lines usually get kind of messed up, but normally if you can ignore that and just enjoy the play itself. It isn't too bad. This game for me was the BIG ACCEPTION. They cut up the Zoids, then painted them a bland steel ass crap color. Never played it, and I'm glad I didn't buy it. Good Review however, throughout. Give it 5 stars.

I would say zoids are way better than gundams, (and they aren't really dead, they seem to be quite a live in Japan, and probably will return to the usa one day) but regardless this game is a disgrace. Zoids are supposed to be incredible fast moving intelligent combat robots, not grey slow moving crap. I own just about every zoid product ever made, however this crappy cheap game will not be joining my collect.

okay first off learn your history. Zoids new century zero series ended in december 2003 between then and now 3+ games were made and they started other series such as zoids fuzors. They made a bad choice when designing this game it could have been amazing but they took more of a dungeons and dragons type of stance right now the only good zoids game is Zoids Battle Legends for the gamecube. soooo "nobody has talked about this show in 10 years" its the most freaking popular show out there
It's a good thing that I watched I review of the gameplay before I even considered getting it. As far as the anime(s) are concerned, they're all right. Granted one can say it might be a knock off of Gundam, however I wouldn't go as far as to say that that they're bad or out right knockoffs. I've grown up with zoids actually. I have zoids: battle legends for the gamecube and zoids: legacy for the ds. Those games aren't that bad. Rented it, played it, got stuck on many missions just from the lack luck.Won't it, but it's nor completely horrible.I do like that the abilities, being able to hit more than one person at a time with the grenades and the EMPs. The repairing can be upgraded as you get higher levels as well so that is good at least.Rou're right the cut scenes get old fast I started to skip them all after than annoying long opening.This game does not do the show any good at all.

Despite loving RTS games, I've never been able to get into these types of games. The FF Tactics and things like that.
I liked the first Advance Wars, but then they added too many stupid powers and made the gameplay more about that than anything else. And Military Madness on the VC is cool. But that's about it.

visual boy advanced and find ROMs. Honestly, it plays the exact same, you can speed up the game, use cheats, play most games, and it takes like 20 minutes tops to find what your looking for if you know how.

Personally, I like Zoids better than I like Gundam. Still I have to say, Zoids games aren't that great. Translation and story lines usually get kind of messed up, but normally if you can ignore that and just enjoy the play itself. It isn't too bad. This game for me was the BIG ACCEPTION. They cut up the Zoids, then painted them a bland steel ass crap color. Never played it, and I'm glad I didn't buy it. Good Review however, throughout. Give it 5 stars.

I would say zoids are way better than gundams, (and they aren't really dead, they seem to be quite a live in Japan, and probably will return to the usa one day) but regardless this game is a disgrace. Zoids are supposed to be incredible fast moving intelligent combat robots, not grey slow moving crap. I own just about every zoid product ever made, however this crappy cheap game will not be joining my collect.

They should make a really good first person shooter zoids game for the Xbox 360, not a strategy game, or an online game or something. anything but this. I like zoids, I watched the first series when it came out and I was in middle school. I didn't like any of the other series.

Well....I used to enjoy the anime and building the Zoids themselves. But this game looks horrible, the Zoids game for Gamecube looks even better than this. So basically I guess this is a tactic game and not much of a RPG.

okay first off learn your history. Zoids new century zero series ended in december 2003 between then and now 3+ games were made and they started other series such as zoids fuzors. They made a bad choice when designing this game it could have been amazing but they took more of a dungeons and dragons type of stance right now the only good zoids game is Zoids Battle Legends for the gamecube. soooo "nobody has talked about this show in 10 years" its the most freaking popular show out there

It's a good thing that I watched I review of the gameplay before I even considered getting it. As far as the anime(s) are concerned, they're all right. Granted one can say it might be a knock off of Gundam, however I wouldn't go as far as to say that that they're bad or out right knockoffs. They're animes, and some animes, sometimes, borrow from others.
As a bit of a correction, the first anime of Zoids premiered in Japan in the mid 80's. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

I've grown up with zoids actually. I have zoids: battle legends for the gamecube and zoids: legacy for the ds. Those games aren't that bad. As much as i disagree about the part about the show being a shitier version of gundam i do agree that this game should have never existed. I've played it and even a long time zoids fan like me got bored and disgusted very quickly.
I'll stick to the show and decent zoids games.

Rented it, played it, got stuck on many missions just from the lack luck.Won't it, but it's nor completely horrible.I do like that the abilities, being able to hit more than one person at a time with the grenades and the EMPs. The repairing can be upgraded as you get higher levels as well so that is good at least.Rou're right the cut scenes get old fast I started to skip them all after than annoying long opening.This game does not do the show any good at all.

Actually it is "may". "e" in Japanese is pronounced like the English long "a".
If you're familiar with Naruto (as many people are), it's pronounced with the same sound as the "e" at the end of Sasuke.

Well, that's really a common misconception by Americans. I lived in Japan for the first half of my life... and they pronounce "Sasuke" wrong in America too.
The "e" in Japanese is pronounced like a short "e" like in the word "pen." Or the "Ve" in "Vegeta" if you want something more familiar.
For example:
Ka sounds like Cop
Ki sounds like Keel
Ku sounds like Cool
Ke sounds like Kennel
Ko sounds like Coal

Chaos century and Guardian Force and New Century Zero were pretty good. So was Genesis for awhile. But the games are so low budget it makes me sad. I remember waking up at 5 am to watch CC on cartoon network when I was like 12...haha the memories

Despite loving RTS games, I've never been able to get into these types of games. The FF Tactics and things like that.
I liked the first Advance Wars, but then they added too many stupid powers and made the gameplay more about that than anything else. And Military Madness on the VC is cool. But that's about it.

visual boy advanced and find ROMs. Honestly, it plays the exact same, you can speed up the game, use cheats, play most games, and it takes like 20 minutes tops to find what your looking for if you know how.
