I made it to 47. Loved all my girlfriends and never cheated....never wanted too...........not in my nature. They all cheated on me and I am broken now. Lucy was the last straw. I somehow new I would hear this last......I have always loved this song xxx
I have overdosed and I am waiting to meet my merciful God. As the tears pour from my eyes I forgive all those who cheated on me. My soul is clean and my conscience is pure. I have loved these ladies all my life....their voices are unique. Bless them. x
They grow older but not their voices, and certainly not their music - really, they are unique and timeless. I can't get enough of these songs and this is one of my favorites.
They always give me a certain feeling of freedom and put me in a place like no other, as if I'm in my own field or something. They impart something in this song that transports the listener.
oh, look how *adorable* Maggie looks with her short little hairs! i had such a crush on her back in these days. Terre too. and i stood, as i still do, in awe of the talent of each and all of them.
This is the kind of song that would make you get out of the house and get every CD they made to make sure you got this one. It just grabs you and you love it.
One of the most beautiful & powerful pieces of music anywhere & ever. Fills me with such sweet sadness, beauty & hope. Maggie, Suzzy & Terre are unique & Amazing - Live Forever!

I've seen the Roches a handful of times and like many of their songs, but of the more serious songs, this is my favorite.

Easily the most underrated artists of our time. Listening to the Roches is like nothing else in this world. I love them so much it hurts.

Does anyone get the bridge lyric: the night of shining armour (DOESN'T??????) do her any favors?
homme323 3 years ago
Here are the lyrics
as taken from their web site.
"the knight of shining
armor doesn't do her any favors"
Traditionally Knights are supposed to willingly doing favors for their chosen Lady.
I guess the guy in the song doesn't treat her right, that's my interpretation. :)

Thanks. Still don't get this in context. The point of view changes...but...such a great song. It still kills me after all these years.

I think it is ties in with the following line..maybe it means 'be careful what you wish for'

My current fav by the group is No Trespassing
Can you have a fav by the Roches (Maggie and Terre and Suzzy?)
If this is your favorite, then what about Winter Coat? Hammond Song? Broken places? Its a definite pickle!

I like "This Feminine Position" and "I Fell in Love" the most. Feel bad for everyone who doesn't know about them. Their music will last forever.
