  • The invisible microphone...

  • Guy in yellow teletubbie shirt looks like Lil Wayne

  • @JihadBunnydick - You mean Lil' Wayne looks like the guy in "yellow teletubbie" shirt, Lil' Wayne wasn't even swimming around in his daddy's testicles when this song was a current song, lol, smh...

  • Is that the Russian Lada (Niva) pulling their wagon at 1:03?

  • Lil Wayne kind of looks like the dark skinned one.

  • lmao, im so old i remember this on a half hour cable show call BET on channel 9

bet got bigger i think! and became a network now thats old lmao

  • Good times...but where they today?????

  • O.K. my last comment : even the cats would band together to watch Imagination on TV !! That's crazy how they were popular !

  • Check out the cover from DeBarge's 1983 album "In A Special Way", and you'll see that Ashley has the same jacket as Eldra (White, like that; the same kind , with a bit of the inner part yellow...check it out! no lies)

  • Sorry... but... that cat obsesses me...and the whole video is seen through the eyes of th cat ...it's the star of the video !

  • Oh yes; I say ... the cat makes the video even better as it would originally be without it !!! I say !

  • Gotta like the cat !!! :-D

  • What about the music, boys. Listen to the beats.....MORE fantastic '80`s on my channel!!!!

  • May I ask why people are wondering if they are gay or not? I only see dudes in weird clothes enjoying what they do...but that's just me =)

  • Indeed,

Leee John and the other pair are camper than a Carry On film.

I don't mind gay people at all,

but I don't need videos like this to ram thier sexuality down my throat.

    Smirk! Smirk!

  • excuse me? Since when is having a wife and kids a garuantee for nót being gay?

  • Comment removed

  • Ya mamas gay! WHO CARES! This DUH is about the music, the voices, the time... actually its TIMELESS! I'd play it 2day if I had it on vinyl! CAN SOMEBODY put up the DUB version! Shizz is hot as MIDNIGHT DEC 31, 2011!! Wake UP!

  • I don't care about their sexual options... Great musical work!!! Bass, drums, keybords and vocals... You got look back to the past to listen to and see good music.

  • Great music !!!

  • Amazing Group!

IMAGINATION will live forever and forever and ...

  • Tosco ... que comédia

  • hahaahah 3.15 the guy on the richt ,

  • HAHAHA 3.10 the guy whit the bearth on the beat !!!

  • LOL @ his "microphone"

  • these guys should get a nobel prize..seriously.

  • pfff... bunch of syupid!! NO ! Imagination were not (and are not...) gay !! They are great performers and also real musicians who could play a lot of instruments;even if Leee John is indicated as "lead singer and keyboards" even if Ashley Ingram is indicated as "Bass guitar and backround vocals" even if Errol Kennedy is indicated only as "Drums and percusiions" in reality they could paly more like the guitar, they also issued albums in 1986and 1987,just search on youtube...

  • ok, I can see that maybe the bass player and the drummer, but are you sure Leee isn't gay??

  • lee is openly gay it doesnt need a genius to figure it out hes out the clloset sadly with half his wardrobe as well

  • Imagination made some of the grooviest music ever.

  • I always liked this song from 1981 from this group from the U.K. It has a real smooth funky groove, with their soulful, and harmonious vocals also, an outstanding 80's R&B song from an outstanding 80's R&B group!!

  • Songs like that are so hard to find and i want that.

  • These dudes wear some out-of-sight outfits. They ROCK!

  • 80 Forever!!!

  • Another 'camp classic' from the boys. God bless you Leee

  • Indeed. Leee is a great person. I met him at one of his concerts and he was super personable. He gets the crowd in the groove and sometimes has them sing with him, too! You cannot ask for more from a performer. And his falsetto moments are among the best in pop and funk history, together with those of Bailey, Gibb, and Lindup.

  • Whao! Just saw this after such a long time. Used to be my best group way back in school in the 80's. Smooth music with lots of rich lyrics...Thanks for sharing.

  • I remember hearing this on the radio in Phoenix, AZ on AM 1060 the then-Urban station. I had no idea it was them, but I sure liked this joint! Hugely! I was only ten years old.

  • their videos are hilarious

  • These guys are oldies now and still are so gays...but what marvelous musicians they were...They used the bass and keoyboards so fine...

  • short shorts, ha!

  • anacondajohnson!:) I liked the cat! Convinced yet?

  • The cat was cute, ha ha!

  • Ha ha, what the phuck is this? They should air this on today's BET Rap City as a goof!!

  • Don't get it: You have more videos of them than I do and you mock them?

  • Don't get me wrong; the song is decent. Even the production value is okay. The video is just goofable; Beavis & Butthead-type stuff. This is my first time even hearing about this group, although I've heard the song "Just an illusion" before. I like their "Body Talk" video, though. Relax; I respect them as musicians. The only thing I was mocking was this particular video, which wouldn't get airplay on today's gangsta thug-inspired BET.

  • I mean to say "...today's homophobic gangsta thug-inspired BET."

  • I'm secure in my heterosexuality to have favorited their other videos, which are actually watchable. Even this video isn't completely unwatchable. Just because I mock a video doesn't always necessarily mean I hate that particular video. And I wasn't mocking them as a group.

  • I was goofing on this video in a good way. If I didn't find anything appealing about this or any of their other videos, I wouldn't have favorited them.

  • anacondajohnson:) Ha Ha!! BET's Testosterone filled culture *smile*. I understand your explainations! I hope you keep Imagination in your favourites.. As the group were an essential part of British R & B history in the early 80's.

(A gr8t way to start research on U.K R&B in this era and the most memorable..lol)

Yet another one of U.K's under rated groups that could of gone on to do so much more:(

Brought back to life for a new audience on YouTube!(hopefully)

    Thxs:)

  • I am happy that you discovered one of the gems of the UK '80s scene. Except for Jaki Graham and Dave Grant, I can't say that they have many equals. I love Phil Fearon, too, but he just can't provide the same vocal ranges (the Bee Gees and Level 42 have that falsetto thing, too). I met Leee John in concert a few years ago, and the man still charms and has a great time in concert. He no longer sings this song, but his shows are worth it nonetheless.

  • sastal:) Wow! (random order only) Jaki Graham and David Grant no one could of matched them. & what about the forgotten under rated Princess?

& also I could not even begin to tell you about the injustice of the dreadful transitional period stateside from Junior Guiscombe - Loose Ends, Soul 2 Soul and the lovely Mica Paris in terms of exposure. Evidently seen in my U.K record collection. (gaps throughout that I'am still not able to fill 2 this day)...

    Do you have any suggestions?

  • You mentioned also, Phil Fearon he had a happy and sweet sound. Especially when I listened to him on the Radio! What on earth happened in those days, sastal?:(

    Thxs 4 the reminderxxx!

p.s I love Leee John & his troop!:)

  • I'am sorry if I missed out anyone. Just blame the U.K's recording industry:(

  • I was so tired when I wrote my last comment that I forgot the legendary Loose Ends. I also have their megamix, if you're interested. I enjoyed Princess back in the day, one of the best SAW acts of that decade. Great times. Today I still listen to Hardcastle (non 19), Rah Band, and Shakatak, though they bordered other genres as well.

  • sastal:) That's o.k! I myself type @ speed so I'am always going back checking. I think that I might have that Megamix of Loose Ends. Carl McIntosh often said that we had a lot to learn from our "transatlantic buddies" But there's nothing exciting coming out here and across the ocean. Yep, the Hit Factory's Princess.

In my opinion a lot more should of been done for her career in the U.K.

  • & If Sade ever read this she would lead me to the slaughter as I failed to mention her as an artist in the 80's.. & Five Star as a disciplined Pop act.

I know of Hardcastle and definately Shakatak but not of the Rah Band.

Thxs 4 your advice I'am going to fill those holes.

    xxx!

  • No one's mentioned Haywoode yet. Also Juliet Roberts, Austin Howard, Linx, Cacique, Dee C Lee, Lewis (comprised of sisters Linda, Shirley and Dee Lewis), Freeez, Funk Masters, 52nd Street... All 1980s UK soul acts worth checking.

  • I have some Haywoode videos for you to check out.

  • @sastal

He never sings the other songs from the other albums that were

made in the 1980s ... he sings only their major hits of the 1980s (the tracks that everyone knows) and generally performs as "Leee John featuring Imagination" ...that is to say : alone, or occasionally accompanied by two other guys ...but that's cause the original members took their separate ways long ago...

  • great some more from the scandolous album please.

i love the whole style of this dance music.

  • Anyone has vidoe for "New Dimension" from same lp?
