They're carbon ceramic.. they work better at that temperature than any thing else. Not to mention, drillnig + slotted bring premature cracking to rotors. Considering most rotors are drilled AFTER they're made, they all have a very high chance of cracking and failure. Slotting doesn't do much else besides cause you to change brake pads more often. Solid discs provide the most life for all braking conditions.
