  • Tip: You can add food coloring for color.

  • Cool! I got this recipe from "Grimoire For the Apprentice Wizard" by Oberon Zell-Ravenheart. But he put there for a different purpose than the one I want to use it for. Just wondering, can you bisque this in a conventional oven or do you need a kiln?

  • Could you use flour instead of cornstarch??

  • i love the friendship bracelets you have on :)

  • please answer quickly! Can you use the pan you just used for food afterwards?

  • @akira32able I am pretty sure because it baking soda and cornstarch which you use in some recipies so it should be fine

  • In the video, you said that you need 1/3 cup of water, but when you said that when you double the recipe, you said that there should be 3/4 cup of water. But isn't 1/3 + 1/3 = 2/3 cup?? can you plz tell me the EXACT measurement????

  • @sweetcandycane12 hello:) well the EXACT measurements of the original recipe were: 1 cup- Baking Soda

    1/2 cup- Cornstarch

3/4 cup- Water however, I did not want to make that much so I divide 3/4 in half but since there is no such thing as a 3/8 cup, I simply rounded to 1/3 cup. Hope this helps!

  • I just made a batch and i found that when the clay dried out, you can just add a little bit of water and it goes back to normal :) hopw i helped some people :D

  • Is it okay if you use baking powder?? instead of baking soda..?

  • would food coloring work?

  • @bbaseketball24 yes, food coloring will work:)

  • Well it does work but after it's dry it gets cracky

  • can you use something diffrent instea of baking soda or powder i dont have any?

  • food?

  • @dropkick743 technically it can be considered food, but i suggest not eating it ;) haha

  • @ChellytheCraftyThing ur u sinqle Q.Q

  • @ChellytheCraftyThing Haha sorry for such a crazy question, but is it safe to smoke out of??

  • @WISClongboarding im pretty sua that air dry clays dont handle heat well. I've been looking for info on da subject too and havent found any good answers. im prolly goin to buy a pipe and mold the clay around it

  • can I replace the cornstarch with flour ? Please respond ASAP : ))

  • @Izhane1 i have not tried that but cornstarch has properties that makes the clay stick, thicken and hold together while flour does not always make the same effect. however if you have tried it out then let me know how the results went! i hope this helps!

  • can i replace the corn starch with flour?

  • @TheChineseGirl1 well cornstarch has properties that makes the clay stick, thicken and hold together while flour does not always make the same effect. so it may not work, however if you have tried this out then let me know the results! i hope this helps:)

  • thanks

  • @M3G4SP0T hahaha :) thank you! and yes, this does dry rock hard

  • this is kindle like cold porcelain

  • @ChellytheCraftyThing

Is this clay similar to DAS air dry clay, or playdough? When it air dries, does it dry rock solid?

  • is air dry clay the same as polymer clay? (please Reply)!!!

  • @ElChingonNo1 air dry clay is NOT the same as polymer clay, polymer clay contains chemicals and must be baked in order to be hard whereas air dry clay is clay that must be air dried haha but it also has a different texture. hope this helps(:

  • Thx u where a big help :)

  • What were the ingredients for a bigger amount

  • @UndecidedGirl10 in the description box:)

  • you rock

  • i lernd thise from you now i now how to make it and all my charms frome it and it is coool

  • is the pot hard to clean after? and can you show us the result of the stuff you made and how long does it take for it to dry?

  • @LoLsHiNe the pot isn't too hard to clean, i just filled the pot with water and let it sit for a while and then used a cleaning sponge/brush to get the rest of the clay off. also the time it takes to dry depends on the size of what you made, i made some clay charms and it took maybe 3 hours but larger items took maybe a day. i hope this helps!

  • How heavy does the clay end up being?

  • hey chelly!i've already used this method...but i used hot water instead of cooked it..and it become just the same!thanks for this tutorial...its really help!

  • i love the tutorial it will help me a lot in school for a presentation that might be coming soon thanks so much

  • is it okay if i use baking powder instead of baking soda? :)

  • @Soouljagurl8 honestly I don't really know, I've done some research and so far i have found that you cannot substitute baking soda... however if you have already tried it out then let me know how the results went! :)

  • can i use bakeing powder?

  • @epicgirl501 honestly I don't really know, I've done some research and so far i have found that you cannot substitute baking soda... however if you have already tried it out then let me know how the results went!

  • dose this work for makeing clay charms and glazeing them? LIKE polymer clay charms (?)

  • @jkcrafter Yes, I have made clay charms from this clay. however, i have never glazed them before. you can always experiment!

  • Is this kind of like cold porcelain?

Do you have to let it sit for a little bit or can you work with it right away?

Appx. How long does it take to dry?

Sorry for a lot of questions i just wanted to know :)

  • @CreativeCrafty well cold porcelain has a smoother texture i think and yes, you can work with it right away, it just might be a little hot to handle. And for some charms that I made, it took maybe 2 hours more or less. I hope this helps!! :)

  • @ChellytheCraftyThing ok thanks :)

and does it stick to itself well or do you have to use glue or something?

  • @CreativeCrafty i think that you should use glue if you were to stick it together. :)

  • @fealford i have not tried that yet, but im sure that if you use acrylic paint it will work fine. Just try to avoid mixing water in your paint. Hope this helps! :)

  • >.< so i wasted 7 bottels of Elmer's all-glue for no reson

BUT THANK YOU :) now my mom n dad wont yell at me saying WDF have u been doing with that glue xD

  • @EasyClay hahahaha!! sorry, but that was just really funny x) but im glad that i could save you 7 bottles of glue xDD

  • can you cook it in a microwaver instead of a stove???

  • @hellokittyluverx123 i think i answered this in another comment: i have not tried microwaving the clay but my best bet is probably to microwave at a medium temperature for 15-30 seconds, taking it out and mixing it around and then microwaving it for another 30 seconds until it forms the clay structure :) hope this helps!!

  • @ChellytheCraftyThing thank you it reallly helped

  • how long does it take to dry i made it and its been drying for and hour and it feels like silicone ? xxxx

  • @rebornloverhmfc it depends on the size of what you made really. I made these small charms and it took about 2 hours and a half to dry, so leave your creation alone maybe until the next day and check it out then :)

  • Can i use it to make charms?? Do i need to put it in the refrigerator?? Can u do a tutorial on how make charms using this clay??

  • @isabellaheng yes! i use this to make charms all the time ^^ and yes, it will be best if put in the refrigerator (and it will last 3 weeks) and i will see if i can make a tutorial however, i don't have any clay at the moment lol

  • Great tutorial... You're pretty tall :O looks like you're almost the same height as your fridge hehe.

  • @devilskullsixtysix thank you haha and i am actually MUCH shorter in real life.. I am 5 foot 1 inch ;)

  • Your FABOLOUS* IT WORKED! iwus scared it wusnt goin to work /= But it did Love yur outfit btw :D MAke more videos! yay Chelly

  • @freskaJaeyRx3 Hey i have a ? does it work to make molds?

  • I just found this video like 10 minutes ago and want to give it a try so Its work ! :D thank you so much

  • OMG thank you!! I made some and it's AWESOME!! Thank you~~^^

  • You sure

  • Does this crack? xx

  • @TruffleCharms Mine did. I wonder why no videos show the after effects of the dry clay?

  • @TruffleCharms no, it should not crack. if it did, it was most likely too dry while cooking it so maybe try patting it with a little water and it shouldn't be so dry. hope this helps :)

  • @ChellytheCraftyThing Is it pat with water after making the clay??

  • @isabellaheng only if it becomes way to dry to work with :)

  • How to let it dry?? Must i put the box in am air tight container? or just any container will do?? Can i use zip lock bags??

  • @isabellaheng if you are making charms and you have to let them dry: its an AIR dry clay so simply just put your just-made charm on a plate and leave it in a well ventilated area. Now if you want to preserve the clay and keep it moist: any container will do, you don't have to use any fancy air tight thing, and yes, zip block bags are perfectly fine. i hope all of my comments have answered your questions properly :)

  • will it work if I use poster paint instead of acrylic paint?

  • @Singaporegirl1999 most likely, it sounds fine :)

  • Really great tutorial, thanks.

  • Do you have to use the corn

  • @MisslittleRandomer the corn starch is quite a vital ingredient because it forms the clay and pulls it together so its not a liquid :)

  • omfg look at the recomended videos right O.o

  • Love love your videos

  • @hanabee819 aww, thanks! i like your videos too ^^

  • Thank you so mich this worked really well =D

and is this cold porcelain or air dry clay like crayola?

  • @NailandCraftFreak13 haha thanks! :) and i assume it is more like crayola air dry clay but I haven't used cold porcelain yet :P

  • @ChellytheCraftyThing ooo thts why but you should try homemade porcelain heres a REALLY good recipe(in my opion one of the best you can find): 1/4 c. of cornstarch 1/4 c. of glue 1/2 TBSP. of oil 1/2 TBSP. of vinegar 1/2 TBSP. of lotion mix dry ingredients together in pot. add wet ingredients.(all wet ingred. except lotion) stir over LOW heat. constantly scrape bottom of pan. take out of pot. apply lotion to surface and knead. store in plastic bag and let rest for 24 hrs youre good to go!
  • @NailandCraftFreak13 WOAH :) thank you sooo much for this recipe! I will definitely take the time and try it out, this is awesome! thank you
