APS-C sized larger sensor... low noise and high-iso performance... with a specialized mini flash acessory and others... huge selection of lenses.... and yes the video quality is much much better!!!

@slinkypinky777 not really.... i tried both E-P1 and the NEX's in hands... try the NEX-5 on your hands... that's magnisium alloy body... really amazing to hold! ... loved it!! ...the Nex-3 is the low cost model of the series with plastic body.... I think you're talking about NEX-3.

@abcd321839955 Dude?? The NEX 5 is currently close to twice the price of the EP-1. You can only compare the NEX 3 to the EP-1 as they are both in the same price bracket - and as I said, the NEX is no comparison on build quality.

Compare the EP-2 to the NEX 5......they are a closer match.

@slinkypinky777 .. although I mentioned NEX 5 only ... NEX3 is no bad either... EP-1 may win against NEX-3 by build quality.. but even the NEX 3 has a titing TruBlack LCD... which works very well under bright sunlight!! ... on the other hand... the LCD on EP-1 is not so great ... anyway.. this is even without counting the other tons of features.. & the APC-C sized larger sensor of NEX-3 (EP-1 has smaller m4/3 sensor) .. so even the NEX-3 is a much more capable camera in low light!!

@abcd321839955 - I mentioned only build quality - on a similar priced camera. You then tried to compare it to a more expensive one....then, when I pointed out the exactness of my comparison, you try and justify your comment with other comparisons of the more modern camera with the ep-1 that is over a year old?? All I'm comparing is BUILD quality. That's it. WIth the similarly priced NEX 3. That's it. Simple. Nuff said. Nothing more to add. Unless you want to talk about build quality :-)

@abcd321839955 - 10 years from now, the PEN EP-1 will be iconic. The NEX range will be forgotten......and you know that's true. Depends whether you want to buy a tiny piece of history (and take great exposures) or the most 'modern' camera that has no heart and will be obselete in 12 months.....you choose dude. Personally, I choose the EP-1 over the EP-2 (built in flashes are useless for anything other than point and shoot) and EPL range. The EP-1 is iconic - like the original PEN.

When I 1st saw it I was infatuated 3 days later I did a 180 & wondered: what was I thinking? It goes good with vinyl records. If you worried about it being gay you might be right it or perhaps it's bi. Just do what I do when someone gives me an odd look for wearing a waist pack tell 'em you're from Europe that's e-z to do in San Diego. The original James Bond would have used this camera. I went back & read the great reviews for my old Nikon D-50 & that made me see how foolish infatuation is.

It feels extremely solid actually! During the tests I was quite happy with the build quality. It has a metal construction and even though its light compared to an d-SLR - there's a nice heft!
