Yes, TV isn't as CAREFREE anymore. We were nearly going to have a time machine invented for us courtesy of Albert Einstein but he never got round to it and he's even DEAD now.
Someone ELSE will have to be a genius to make time travel possible.
@EuroAlien Littering is a great problem these days, thanks, as you say, to the Vicky Pollards of our society. Very sad piece of film. Stop the litterers I say!
I agree, they're excellent. I'm only a teenager so wasn't around for any of these PIF's, but they really get a message across. My Dad got the DVD's for his birthday, I've enjoyed them as much as him!
was that supposed to be footage of some real event that everyone in britain knows about or is that just an old commercial that you all are "remembering". just confused, if you wouldn't mind clearing it up
It's an old ad and, as far as I know, they just poured loads of paper on top of a nondescript street. It'll be the patriotic music that's getting people misty-eyed.
Amazing, I've actually thought about this a lot over the years and now finally, here it is! Especially remember the old fluorescent street lights which were once omnipresent but now virtually non-existent.
Where on earth did you find this? It must be over 20 years since I last saw this. It really takes me back to when I was little. Many thanks for uploading this.
They Dumped Tons of garbage out into the environment just to make a point! Kind of counter-productive I would think.

What was a Welshman like Harry Secombe doing singing about England's green and pleasant land? Strange.

I've never forgotten this PIF, probably due to (later Sir) Harry's excellent accompaniment, and it must have stuck in my young mind.
Why don't we show these PIFs anymore?? Have we simply become a nation of Vicki Pollards who don't give a toss?

Quite simply,yes.

Goosebumps. Gives me a warm glow of pride to think I've never littered in my entire life. Thank you so much, a great ad!
