@SenorNerd The thing is the "first thoughts" video was made a year before Alice In Wonderland was going to be released and it was him complaining about the design of The Mad Hatter, also there is no way to determine how the final product will turn out when there not a lot of material being released (production photos, clips, etc), and personally I didn't think Alice in Wonderland wasn't that bad (however that being said it wouldn't be on my top 10 favorite films of 2010).

Yeah...this video wasn't very good. Browncoat Eric is one of those reviewers I like, but I don't agree with some of his points. He often treats his opinions as facts, and really needs to get a script. Some people are good speakers on his own, but he stutters a lot and I really get annoyed when there's this long pause in his videos. Also, he does like some of Tim Burton's movies, proven in his review of Ed Wood. Either way, I still like watching his videos. His Hellsing review was really good!

He basically complains that the movie is an attack on the catholic church because the elder penguins shun those who can't sing--Eric said to look up the definition of dogma before the video began--in this case, it'd be the main character, Mumble. But the thing is, if Mumble wasn't shunned and the penguins were open, there wouldn't be a plot.

I have fallowed his videos for sometime and I know from comments and videos he has made was that he was tired of debating his views on Tim Burton with other people. That is why he disabled the comments on not just this video but all of his videos regarding tim burton. The older Tim Burton videos have had comments open for a substantial amount of time.

i've had a problem with Eric for a long time in that he considers his opinion to be "holy" and untouchable like when I criticized some of his favorite writers or reasonably agrued against his reasonings for hating a story, or simply stating another perspective, he calls my opinion bullcrap. He claims to be knowledgable about comics but half of the shit he says about heroes outside Batman, Iron Man, Spider-Man and Green Arrow are poorly researched, naive, and just not well thought out.
I'm not the biggest Burton fan (Mars Attacks being the most notable films on my hate list in the wasted potential and butchery of the source material) but I can't deny Burton has vision and talent as shown in films like Ed Wood and Big Fish. All directors have recurring themes in their films like Speilberg with the father figure issues or John Carpether in having witty cheesy humor in certain moments in dark movies.
@MichaelSchomer Yup, I have no problem with him, just with some of his videos I've seen, it shows he most of the tie just doesn't plan out what he's gonna say in advance, so he just goes nowhere with some of his vids.
