I do believe that Mustaine is in fact lead guitar on this particular demo, however, the first solo is Lloyd Grant. Mustaine plays all the other solos on the song but during the recording, Lloyd Grant's take on the first solo was so good that they decided to leave it in .. If this is the demo I'm refering to that is ..
this compilation was made before lars and james met dave. they used a guitar player by the name of Lloyd Grant because they needed a lead guitar player FAST or else they wouldn't be on the compilation.
correct. Lloyd played a second solo, being that there was no vocals on another section in the song, so they had him churn one out quickly. thanks for the correction.
no, metal mania was magazine. that's how metallica name came out, when someone (don't remember who) asked from lars what would be better name for magazine, metal mania or metallica, and lars sayed metal mania, cause he wanted "metallica" to be band's name. and metallica was created in 1981
wow, i'm amazed how corny mustaine's guitar sounds with that distortion. lloyd grant had a better sound in the first take for metal massacre, but the melody mustaine plays in this one is way better.
It's true, Mustaine NEVER sang for metallica. Sure, he did alot of talking on the mic. This is no doubt Hetfield on vocals here. It just sounds like they had more than one vocal track.

In early 1982, Metallica recorded its first original song "Hit the Lights" for the Metal Massacre I compilation. Hetfield played bass on the song and Lloyd Grant was credited with a guitar solo.
thats from wiki ron wasent even in the band at that point, metallica had never even played live when they realesed this
The very first Hit the Lights was recorded in Ron McGovney's garage, but he didn't play with them. Previously Ron played with James and other guys in the same garage as an amateur band called Leather Charm, but once Metallica was created in October 1981 Ron refused to join the band cause he didn't like Lars, but he still allowed them to play in his garage. dumb ass, if its not the first recording then why would you put that in the title for?? also how do you know if it sucks if you never even heard it?? wtf..
not to be an ass , but this is the no life til leather version , the metal massacre one was 10 times shitier , these are definitely daves solos , yeah
LLoyd grant wasnt a member of metallica. on the way 2 record this track james and lars wanted another solo for the song and james asked his friend lloyd to record it. thats the extent of his history in metallica. not a real member though.
hey fucking dumb cunt noob cock sucker dave haven join the band yet the line up is. James Hetfield Lars Ulrich Ron Mc Lloyd ron was original bassist lloyd was the ORIGINAL lead guitarist he played in this METAL M hit the lights. Its james voice study more about metallica before commenting dumb
Lloyd Grant was never a member of Metallica. He just played with them in a couple of sessions. Mustaine was the first lead guitarist for Metallica. End of story.

Acctually, this is the 2nd metal massacre version. They have like 4 different demos of this song that sound exactly the same.

LLoyd grant wasnt a member of metallica. on the way 2 record this track james and lars wanted another solo for the song and james asked his friend lloyd to record it. thats the extent of his history in metallica. not a real member though.

Lloyd Grant was never a member of Metallica. He just played with them in a couple of sessions. Mustaine was the first lead guitarist for Metallica. End of story.
