I remember listening to this soundtrack when I first read The Giver. It made my reading experience absolutely fenominal. It's been a few years since I read it, but I remember this song came on at the part where the protagonist begins to peace everything together about the world he lives in and the role he's supposed to take in it. What a reading experience!
i always thought alex shud have saved emma ahead of mara. he shud destroy his machine before emma dies n she cud live. then it would have been a happy ending. emma was the reason he built his machine in the 1st place
@AdamAKarolia the whole point of the story is that you cant change past! I think you didnt watch the movie otherwise you would have understood that he tried to save her but you cant change past! If Mara was killed by one of the Morlocks he couldnt have saved her because you cant change past! And why do you think that everything is fine if he goes back in time and saves Emma and then destroys the machine? The whole point is to make the best out of present! LOL
@logitechmouse123 Good point LOL. I have seen the movie by the way, and the king morlock told alex he couldn't save emma because of the machine itself. He said if she lived, the machine wouldn't have existed. Therefore, alex could travel back in time, to the day emma dies, or anytime before she died, and destroy his machine before emma actually dies then she can live. but that's just my point of view.
@AdamAKarolia If he did go back before Emma died and destroyed the machine she will still die cause it's etched in stone already.He also has to remember that now there are 2 Alexes there but only one of them knows what happened. He has created an infinite loop.
