hey kevin. you give a beautiful video and interesting to see a nice and well maintained village show .with good music.thank you my dear thank you so much and best wishes for your best work.
@BusanKevin lol thats what I was thinking (with the following stalking thing) but then you explained it and made me go AAAAAHHHHHHHH....but god how I Envy you, I so want to GO TO JAPAN :(
Hey Kevin, It looks like you had a wonderful day in the country! It was interesting to see how a village in your wife's mother's hometown looks. I especially liked the bus stop next to the waterfall. Who could mind waiting for the bus? Thanks for sharing! -Kurt :-)
neat-o for being the country side, it still seems like a mini-concrete jungle.. surprised to see so many houses so close together and little yards, or are the yards inside the cement fences so we can't see it?
And the other surprising thing is that even in the heart of the biggest cities you find these pockets of "green" as they say here. I live a 10 minute train ride from Shibuya plus a 20 minute walk from the station and there are vegetable fields, a couple of small rivers with herons and ducks, a small mountain with shrines and temples...I mean, the idea of a concrete jungle is true in lots of areas, but so many lovely places even in the cities. Anyways, thanks again.
Hey Kevin Thanks, I really liked this, really beautiful. I get sick of seeing nothing but "weird Japan" stuff all the time on Youtube. I'm always surprised how easy it is to get to nice rural places in Japan by a short train ride compared to back home (also Canadian) where you have to drive everywhere!
Glad you liked the vid. The best parts of Japan are for sure NOT the weird parts. There's so much beauty and cool things everywhere and those are just the places where regular people live.
Kev mate, I'm finally on a catch up of your vids.
By the way, I love the track "Hope". It didn't stand out to me much on the first play of the Fatblueman album but I think now it is my favourite track on it.
I know! I thought the same thing. At one point we saw two little boys playing with Pokemon cards on the side of the road. I thought they'd freak to see a "gaijin"~foreigner walking through their village, but they didn't look twice...I suppose Pokemon is WAY cooler than a foreigner!
It was a beautiful place. How are you adjusting to life back in the States? I hope you start vlogging soon:) I'd love to see some new vids about what you're up too!!
it was pretty amazing for me to see. I had no idea how huge the farmhouses would be. We were at my wife's uncle's house and it was like a labrynth...mind you a cold one :)
Top 5 video for sure. Makes me want to go get some sweet footage. One thing this vid brought back to me was seeing the 'paths' and little tiny 'streets' in Okinawa as a kid. Alleys are what you might call them, such a cool and informal feel to them. I want to fly to Japan and walk them again.
Hope you feel better soon. You really need a proper video cam because some of your videos have such a great feel, nice tape footage would make them soar. Wow that was gay, you know what I mean though.
I do know what you mean. I have a better camera, but it's broken in Canada. Might get it shipped over sometime and get it fixed here. BUT alas, a new one isn't in the budget...saving for a new computer...
yeah. check out those softypapa videos...he REALLY captures life in rural Japan....I always enjoy watching his too. He also talks a lot about history :)
I liked this vid, it was way cool man, really cool. I'm sitting here with the vid on full screen takin it all in, zoned out in this zen like state; really takin it all in then BLAM, a plugin for lemon juice. Great. Do you have any idea how much I want Lemonade right now? Do you? I don't think you do... no because you've had your vatmin C. Damn it, I don't even have that powdered crap, now I'm gonna go take a lame walk (no sights or waterfalls) to the store to get some lemonade. Good vid anyway.
Glad you liked the vid. Sorry about making you crave lemonade. I have no idea how much it is back there?? Sorry....of course, being me, I had to add at least one "silly" element to a video....can't be %100 straight up serious :)
A chick friend of mines lives around the Mt. Fuji area...so I had the change to stay out in a small town for a while...I loved it so quite, Mt. Fuji in the background, few tourist found their way to that area
Yeah, that must have been so cool to see Mt. Fuji everyday. Did you see the Ericsurf6 video where he tries to walk from the base of Fuji to the summit in one day? If not, you should check it out!
It looks beautiful and pristine to me! I love it and now I want to go. Thanks for this video. You opened my eyes a little more to life in the Japanese countryside.
as a child, I grew up in the country side of Japan, and even to this day, I still miss it. Watching this video brought back lots of great memories. Thanx for uploading this!
Thanks a bunch. Great compliment :) It was a great day. Sometime in the next month or two I'll actually get to stay the night in that area....can't wait :) It was an very interesting day trip...for me, far more interesting than city life!
To be honest, I have no idea. I suppose a big house in the country since you'd be responsible for the upkeep...fixing the roof if it leaked, replacing rotting wood, etc. BUT....I'm speculating of course.....having never been a homeowner!
I would love to live in the Country Side in Japan but what i always wanted to know is if i would find a job to my qualifications there to make a living :P
If you have a univerity degree in any subject, you can apply to the JET program...Japan Exchange for Teachers. Most of them are posted in smaller towns. Check out "myargonauts" vids about it! Link is on the side :)

I use a point and shoot digital camera...a little Sony Cybershot. At some point next year I'll upgrade :) It does take pretty sweet video though!
