The security at the power plants are issued Glock G22's last I heard. I think the XDs would be great in a law enforcement setting, however Springfield is not marketing them to law enforcement too much. Glocks get rammed down our throats.
@lskw1 In my part of Florida, Glock has practically given away Glocks to law enforcement. They just about have a complete monopoly around here. Other manufacturers are starting to get some of the business back. Springfield and Ruger would do well to start heavily marketing the law enforcement crowd. S&W already has. They're making and marketing some very nice guns.
I own the .40 cal XDm, 9mm XDm 3.8, Kimber Ultra Carry II TLE LG plus 2 other .380 weapons. I love my 9mm almost as much as the Kimber. I believe that there are a lot of Glocks in the market, that doesn't necessarily make it the best choice. Its all about personal preference. I prefer the Springfield, that is my choice, the 3.8"9mm has little recoil because of the dual springs. It shot well right out of the box. I have over 500 rounds thru it, this weapon replaced a Beretta PX-4 Storm.

Wow man, once again, you've got me thinking. I've got a Glock, but I like that you get so much value with the XD series. I'd like to check out the subcompact XD. As for the "chinsy" cleaning rod that comes with the Glock, first.. LOL, you crack me up dude, second, it's actually very functional and holds up great over time. I've got a lot of cleanings on mine so far, and I've had no issues. Anyway, good review, and damn you for getting me thinking ...
@noBuzzkillin glocks are good.. but in my opnion they are cheep.. there reliable and all that don't get me wrong but than you have to buy all the other accessories like extended mag release, slide stop, guidspring rod ect....you don't have to but its another option.. mine is stock standard..but my xdm comes with everything i need just how i like it you know.....but glock is easier to carry cause of the size
@lskw1 I'll keep looking. The only minuses I see with the XD (without ever having shot one) is the slightly higher profile, which would concern me a little as far as getting up as high as possible to control recoil, and the chromed magazines, which (not sure how your feel with your more extensive experience) seem like they are a little more reflective. Other than that, I think they look awesome, and even then, my opinions sofar are not based on experience. -Cheers

@lskw1 I get the feeling that no matter what the comparison, Nutn finds a way to have Glock come out on top. I think at this point the only real test is to take one out for a ride and compare. As for the mag chrome, I suppose I just see it as an unnecessary signature, but you are right, for most HD situations its not going to matter at all, although living in Kalifornia, some would consider us behind enemy lines.. haha.. peace.
@BenderBullet56 there reason was to protect identity. like say i was video taping and i got someone on camera that was some top executive at a big corporation and there work saw the footage online than he could get fired for whatever reason... thats the best that they could come up with
nice ive been looking at several dif handguns and thinking im going to go with this one, just not sure if i want the black or the green yet. was thinking bout a 10 mil glock for awhile but being as 40s are so much cheap rounds ill be going with this

@lskw1 ya went with the od, fired about 700 rounds thru it so far and only one miss feed.
Can ping 1foot targets at 200 yards lol (with a few rounds to dail in first)
