Thanks TallSky for filming the Reagan and all the other ships. My brother is currently on the Reagan as I type this, and as they are on deployment right now, I can not wait until we have the chance to see it come home like this again. I miss my brother.
a very impressive ship, having the men stand on the edge of the flight deck nicely emphasises how big they are. By the way at about 1.36 it appearsto pass another carrier. Anyone know which one that would be?
@persilbran That other ship is the USS Nimitz CVN-68, which is the first in it's class. There are ten of them (Nimitz class). I've filmed six of the Nimitz-class carriers here at the San Diego bay at one time or another.
i remember coming home on this deployment...i was standing on the flight deck and my father was standing behind me it was the most amazing feeling in the world!! My dad passed away just 4 days after this so this was ana amazing experience for me...
@usnhutch06 I'm sorry, yet it is a blessing that you had this time with him.So very meaningful an experience and so kind of you to share the memory. Thank you
@Reallyyoudontknowwhy - those are poetic words - thanks for the comment, and for your service - all the best to you and yours ~ this video is for you.
Thats a magnificent video. I really like aircraft carriers. Their strike power is enormous. They are beauty and the best in one. It's a impressive picture to see the USS Ronald Reagon entering the Port of san diego. I think the man and women on board do a great job. It must be really hard to stay away from home for such a long distance of time. I tbhink americans can be proud of their carrier fleet and the man and women who serve on it. Best wishes from germany very nice video.
Greetings from Germany to all men and women on CVN 76 - USS Ronald Reagan! He was the GREATEST president of the United States. He teared down the Berlin wall and brought freedom to Europe. We will never forget him!
I think it is called "4th of July"...it is one of the youtube listed music choices. The original song was muted - forced offline by youtube's copyright software.
That was a great day, I was there. Thanks so much , brought back alot of memories....I am now on my 3rd deployment waiting for my husband to come home.
Aw thanks to much for uploading this video. My dad's side of the family all the guys were in the Navy. Two of my bestfriends are joining up and my Fiancee is going through school right now to be an ET. It's always makes me smile to see videos like this. Thanks for the upload. Makes me proud to be called a sailors girl. ^.^ Go Navy.
Just filmed the USS Ronald Reagan's deployment out of SD bay yesterday, May 28, 2009, and should be online very soon...it's always a pleasure to film such a magnificent sight!
Thank you so much for posting this! It made me emotional! My boyfriend was one of the sailors coming home on that ship, but with me being in Texas I wasn't able to be there! It isn't the same seeing it on youtube, but it definitely helps! I'm so very proud of my Navy man!
Thanks for commenting! It is always really fantastic to hear from you who have served on these San Diego based carriers. May God bless you, and may your pension be huge!
I was on the Reagan as we pulled in. I was a Tiger. It was an AWESOME experience! If you ever get the chance take it. The air shows that they do are UNBELIEVABLE. Also, you really can feel the emotion and pride as you pull into port. Much respect and thanks to those who sacrafice so much to serve us.
Thanks for another great video. I was on the ship for the Tiger Cruise which was without a doubt an experience of a lifetime. As we came into port, you could actually feel the excitement from the sailors - and believe me -noone had dry eyes when the family tents first came into view. So I missed this view -it's awesome - great film work.
Our Daughter came home and we were on the pier to greet her! Words cannot describe the Awe we were in as that ship so graciously pulled in! Thank you to all who serve!
I'm a mom in Ohio and was going to be a Tiger until a car accident changed the plans. My son is on his first deployment here and I wanted to thank you for this, it's lovely (through mom's tears
Welcome home and may you all have a blessed Thanksgiving and Holiday Season!! God bless you and yours throughout all the days of your lives. Thank you for serving our country.
Thank you! My brother and cousin both returned home this week from the Reagan. I live in Michigan so I wasn't able to see it but I've been looking all over for any video for the last couple days. I'm a Navy brat myself and miss being on the pier to see the ships go out and come back safely. Thanks again for posting this!

@UnholyMalice You're welcome - I'm looking forward to filming their homecoming too. Must be cool to have a brother on there.

@TallSky It's cool because it's such an awesome ship, but it sucks at the same time because he's gone for such a long time.
