I was saddened by the news of the good Captain's passing, if for no other reason than the release of "The Spotlight Kid", he will have a firm place in my personal ROCK Zeitgeist, this version of the J J Cale classic is a winner! RIP

Don Van Viet will always be a major influence on rock and roll and also songwriting. He was a true artist. He was one of kind. Captain Beefheart will be missed. RIP.
