  • I keep hearing Strawberry Fields Forever, but then it doesn't come...

  • Are these beasts still available? how do they stack up to the memo tron?

  • @jsilence418

Yes, Nord Electro 3 is available. Also the Nord Wave and Nord Stage will load Mellotrons. IMHO Memotron will be better, cause it is dedicated for this purpose.

  • @Cesarsound1 Thank you I appreciate your response I am looking for a mellotron substitute, who in hell can afford the real thing even the remakes??

  • Yes get you point but if they are that good you wouldnt want to sell it anyway

  • @williehackitt1,

Yes, this thing is red but has the value of gold...

  • @Cesarsound thanks for the feedback on my first demo. I will let you know when STARSHIP ENTERPRISE is uploaded. I have never heard FM7/FM8 but I have heard it carries on the legacy very well with a more user friendly interface. I am just a fan of hardware. And just cant get used to sitting in front of a laptop to make music.

I would love to get the DX7 IIFD. I have owned the DX7S for 20 years thats why I kow it inside out. Its in mono like the original DX7. The II D and II FD are in stereo.

  • @Cesarsound then you had better take a listen to my demo at the end of February and tell me if you even think you are hearing a DX7. The entire track is generated from a DX7S. No samples or drum machines. And check the organ sound out. The people who programmed the factory patches for the DX7S should be ashamed of themselves.

They told nothing of its true power or versatility. Thats where I come in I mastered this synths engine. I have programmed an 808 drum machine into it and its time to show

  • @fender1000100

I know the power of FM synthesys and I am fan of FM Bass and Pads. Some time I was about to exchange my Roland XP50 by one DX7IIFD, but things didn't work out. Now I enjoy playing onFM7 / FM8 VST. I will watch your demo.

  • A YAMAHA DX7 MK2 will sound better than this for just 200 or less on Ebay. People dont look around before they throw their money around.

  • @fender1000100

I like DX7 too, but it is for FM sounds only.

  • a ok

  • Sold..Sold..Sold....bravo bro Cesar... Nord Electro 3 is my first choice as my ultimate keyboard. Hopefully, I can work out a deal with my music store. Thank you so much....Ed

  • @easyvivo

Thank you! You will love the Rhodes also. Good choice!

  • a la 2:16min on dirait de differentes vois qui disent ahh de differentes façon...

  • @syley147

    Female Voice!

  • The sounds are natural but none of the transitions are :/

  • @monkeys350

I believe you, cause I 've never played or even seen physicaly a real Mellotron.

    Thanks.

  • Nice... but it's not a Mellotron.

  • @diskochimp

Yes, but it is not so far...

    Thank you:)

  • awful...

  • if i had $2000...

  • @mattehFLCL....Just save each month and when the discounted price meets your savings, then its time to buy.. but also keep feeding the store with competitive on line prices to keep them honest..... good luck

  • Hey man could you help me out, I've read there is a setting for the B3 organ on the Electro 3 which can make it sound either really worn out, or brand new (as it sounded when it came right from the factory in 1965 in other words). Do you know how to access it, and is the difference big?

  • @Alex4uall

This is true and the difference is very noticiable. From manua:

    Tonewheel Mode

Sets the level of tonewheel crosstalk and cable leakage artifacts of the B3 organ model.

    Range: u3 – Vintage 3, u2 - Vintage2, u1 - Vintage1 (default),

    Cl – Clean

  • @Cesarsound1 Oh sweet man! Sorry if I'm asking for too much but is there a chance you could demonstrate the differences by recording a short sample of each setting with both fast and slow on the rotary speaker? I'm thinking of buying one of these soon and this would sure help me a lot :)

  • @Alex4uall

I can do it but only in weekends. I will try to post a new video.

  • @Cesarsound1 Thank you so much sir.

  • Good stuff man

  • @petemacbook

    Hello, thanks!

  • Strawberry Fields Forever??

  • @Todosobrelosbeatles

    Near, but not exactly.

    Thanks.

  • For the price of this thing you can almost buy an actual real mellotron, which does not have fake pitched samples like this one but a different sample on each key. I can't believe they wouldn't even do something as simple as that for the money it costs. The reverb does not do the mellotron any justice either.A big part of the haunting mellotron sound was made by the lo-fi spring reverbs used on them. Also the hammond was not a mellotron sound and doesn't sound very much like a real hammond either

  • @FreakbeatJack

I agree with you, nothing replaces the real thing. But this thing weights only 5kg (11 pounds) and is compact. This counts for me.

    Thanks.

  • @Cesarsound1 That's true but I still think it could have been executed better. Maybe more like the memotron or other new compact digital mellotron models. I also don't like the fact that everybody that buys this keyboard just gets a mellotron with it, even if they don't want it, now everyone just gets one along with lots of other instruments, it's practical but not very special or magical..

  • Got me one of em : D love it love it ..

  • I have GOT to get me a Nord Electro 3!

  • @stratovani

    Good choice!

  • @stratovani

    Go ahead!

  • @stratovani Nord stage 2 better.

  • gotta love the beatles

  • @iamjakebake

    Me too. Thanks.

  • Amazing demonstration! How many Mellotron sounds are there in the Nord Sounds Library in total?

  • @The7thINFANTRY

    Hi, thanks!

There are 5 classic sounds on factory memory: Flute, 3 Viollins, Male / Female Choir, Boys Choir and Strings Section. And there are others Mellotron and Chamberlin sounds that come on Nord DVD and also can be downloaded from Nord's Website for free.

  • @Cesarsound1 Thank you for the reply! I ask because I am considering getting the Nord Electro 3 but am stuck between that, the M4000D or a Korg SV1. Can you shed any light on this decision?

  • @The7thINFANTRY

My personal opinion is that you should go with NE3. Beyond the Mellotron sounds, you will get killer organs (B3/Vox/Farfisa), nice Rhodes / Wurlitzer EPs, Yamaha CP80, and very good Leslie simulator, tube distortion, reverb, chorus and others effects. This is a top class keyboard.

  • @The7thINFANTRY

The Nord 3 is Great, I got one.

    I had a Nord 2, but i traded it for a '79 Rhodes Mark I.

  • @The7thINFANTRY 29 sounds in total.

  • Very nice!! can you make a video of the chamberlin sounds?

The mellotron organ is also very nice, but you didn' play it here.

  • @michaelbijnensmb

Hi, thanks for the comments. I have already loaded the Optgan library on my NE3 and I will post a vide soon.

  • what was that song you played in the begining

  • @bigmutt23

Hi, thanks for watching. It was just some improvisation chords harmonization, I was not playing any known song.

  • Are all of the mellotron samples spread out over the entire key-range? since the mellotron itself had only 35 keys and no octave up or down buttons

  • @FreeTheInternets

    Thanks for watching.

The samples are spread out on lower / uper keyboard range, but the original sample keys are on 35 keys, namely, each key of mellotron was sampled.

  • @Cesarsound1 ah so clavia slowed and sped up the sounds themselves, thanks for clearing that up! :)

  • Best pre-sampled Mellotron emulation I've heard yet and I used to own a Mellotron M400. With memory being so cheap, I don't know why they don't have all eight seconds of every key sampled. I did that with my inexpensive Korg TR and it's a Mellotron monster! Unfortunately, it takes six minutes to boot up :( I'd compromise if I could afford the Nord.

  • @gareebee The Nord sample library offers the 8sec versions aswell as the looped ones. But, as you mentioned, they take up a lot more memory space!

  • VERY GOOG

  • @hugocormerais

    Hello, thanks for comment.

  • @Pismodd

Hi, thanks for comments. I will do more soon.

  • very good demo!

  • @guitarharpsichord

    Thanks for your comment!

  • @ollywood123

    ?!

  • nice but so over priced

  • @williehackitt1

    yea, I agree.

    Thanks.

  • @williehackitt1 They're pretty expensive, I'll give you that. But once you delve into the NE3's possibilities (download and study the manual, or try one), take a look at it's build quality, listen to it's wonderfull sounds (often mistaken for the real deal) and ease of use it's one of the best things around in it's priceclass at the moment. Of course, the NE3 doesn't offer all the bells and whistles many budget synths, workstations and entertainer keyboards do but it's not targeting that market.

  • @williehackitt1 ... I also though that it is pricey.... but on the other side of the coin, the resale value is very good.

  • For the first two notes i tought you were playing ''Moochild'' by King Crimson.

  • wow, the flute is great! (elenor rigby!) How many strings presets are there? it confuses me, because ive read that there aren't any...

  • @MyHeartBeatsRnR

Thanks for watching. All these voices are factory loaded on NE3. And you can load other more voices from Nord Website. Actually NE3 has 68MB of flash memory that may be fully erased and loaded with other samples, using the Nord Sound Manager Program (free).

  • @Cesarsound1 thanks for the answer! but i think its even 256MB

  • @MyHeartBeatsRnR

More precisely, 185 MB of the flash memory is allocated to the piano types and 68 MB of the flash memory is allocated to samples and it is not possible to change the size of this allocation.

  • @MyHeartBeatsRnR

In fact, it sounds like in "Strawberry Fields Forever".

  • @souzabluesplayer true, thats the song i meant ;)

  • cool

  • @pressloh

    Thanks!

  • @pressloh

    Thanks!

  • wow, that nord electro sounds awesome!!! thanks for sharing your video :)

  • @sebarueda

Yes, it worth have one, even better the new Electro HP.

    Thanks!

  • @sebarueda,

    Thank you.

  • Are the mellotron flute sounds preset, or did you have to create them?

  • @wolfman3902001

The mellotron flute sounds are factory preset, as well as the others sounds shown in this video.

    Thanks.
