Everyone has his or her opininon. It's called advertising...the girls are the ones selling the products, believe it or not. A happy model can make a big difference on judging whether to buy a dress or not...it is all in the total advertising.

I'm actually looking for bridal shows with smiles as a show I do each year asks me to smile. It's really hard to keep up, feels unnatural. Smiles seem to show up more in less formal shows, like David's Bridal. I find that smiles are distracting--the things that are modeled can be less of a focus than the personality of the model. What is modeled can be forgotten. Also, many brides I see during wedding ceremonies look fairly serious.

Yes, people forget what modeling really is. A model models clothes.

I understand if people don't like the clothes--to each their own. But putting down dresses (and people) on the internet seems really sad, useless to me.

Wow, i didn't know models were so hated :/ There is really no such thing as a "realistic" body type. It seems like the comments are saying since you're naturally thin, you're body is not "realistic" lol makes no sense... the body of a model is more like an ideal figure produced by the media. Haha but I bet if the ideal body type was plus size, then thin people would write hate comments. My point is that all body types are real as long as you eat healthy..(:

I think the thin-models are meant to be some kind of 'dolls', they can't show clothing on just coat hangers. We need a basic shape to see how it looks like on a living person. I think a piece of clothing is surely well made if it fits any body shape though, which means, you look good in it!

the models are so skinny because fashion illustration has 9 heads as the proper porportions while 6 to 7 heads is the normal porportions. If the models are tall and skinny, they will look more like the original design.

Definitely need to see them move. I wore "Lana" for my wedding. I thought that it was nothing special when I saw it on the hanger, but it was perfect on and not too $ for Vera. I was four months pregnant so I needed an empire waist. It was very flattering--the bow hid my bump.

i love how the torso and the bottom of the dresses aren't completely separated and flow into each other so the dress is one. cuz on TLC, the dresses started to bore me just a little even tho they were beautiful. but vera wang's dresses are georgious and innovative!

It's because they are ment to be walking coat hangers.....no distractions such as boobs or butt in the outfits....designers want people to concentrate on the outfit and don't want a womenly figure to stand in the way.

There are only so many traditional wedding dress designs and most brides are familiar with them. The pieces picked out for the show are new and more extravagantly fashionable, because they're shown to magazines and retailers. Regular clients can find her stockpiles of more traditional designs at showrooms and stores.

To be honest, I think that for Vera Wang bridal gowns, a tall, slim figure really optimizes the appearance of the gowns. It just makes it more elegant in a way, though I would love to see it on a curvy woman as well, these girls are models!
