Great idea for a video! But as a newbie to canning, I have a few questions...Do I have to use a canning pot? If so, how long? How long do I boil? Do I use all ingredients at once, or is there an order to it? Do I boil the lids too? How long before I know if my jelly is set? Thanks!
I may well be a bit late but I use used glass jam jars that have those metal lids with the safety anti-tamper top. Wash the jars and lids in boiling water then put them in the oven at 105 Celsius (typically the same temp as set jelly). When the jam reaches setting point remove the jars from the oven and pour in th jam. Put the lids on and tighten them hand tight. You may need to give them a tweak after they have cooled a couple of minutes but once cold the seal will be perfect and sterile too!
