  • Fuck, I just took like 13mg. Can I snort 1 lol. First time trying this crap. Will I be able to gain weight muscle.

  • i got a sample bottle today. took 5mg. knocked my ass out all day lol. i could still probably sleep.

  • buy bible

  • Have you noticed increased boredom while on zyprexa? I've been bored out of my mind since I started on them. It probably has something to do with the mood-stabilizing effect.

  • Eli Lilly Zyprexa suits

They called it the *Five at Five* (5 mg at 5 pm to keep nursing home patients subdued and sleepy) and *VIVA ZYPREXA* (Zyprexa for everybody) campaigns to off label market Eli Lilly Zyprexa as a fix for unapproved usage. Big Pharma companies that have relied on fraud to market industry's worst pharmaceuticals--antipsychotic drugs--which have become industry's most profitable cash cow. ---

  • restless legs is known as akathesia.

  • Zyprexa, worst 2 months of my life

  • @HilarityBribo Same here.

  • i took a somewhat high dose of olanzopine once and i had restless legss too

  • I have a friend on zyprexa and for some reason he has recently developed insomnia. I wonder if this is common, or is it possible he is relapsing?? Anyone have any ideas. Or perhaps he's non compliant/

  • @kathryn120 , its quite possible ur friend isnt maintaining his dosage wether through forgetfullness, or simply not wanting to. once u start to lessen the dosage (unless properly weaned off) the mind will go through periods of extreme alertness, often during regular sleeping patterns, resulting in insonmia. i know this through personal experience. hope this helps =)

  • Hi Mel, when I was first put on Zyprexa, I found that I felt compelled to thrash my legs backwards and forwards when I went to bed. It got better with time. I also developed akathisia during the day as well where I was very restless and I had to pace up and down a lot and could not sit still for long. If I was sitting my legs were shaking because of akathisia. In my case this side-effect got better with time as well.

I am currently taking 5mg. The highest dose I received was 15mg at night.

  • @PsychosisUnitFM2 15mg! holy cow! that is a lot i'm on the 2.5 mg and it's super strong for me i'd be dead if i took 15 mg wow! :D

  • 12 to 16 hours is excessive. It is amazing how Zyprexa is sedating and tiring while Abilify is very activating. It is good that some components have improved. Wishing Rob success in his battle of the bands.

  • You are a uniquely and deeply interesting and strong person. I don't know if you even realize how loved and admired you are here on YT. I hope people in your everyday life appriciate you as much as we do.

  • @tushygalore I think the same thing...

  • Mel, I had restless/cramping legs, a co-worker reminded me of something we learned in nursing school... a banana! One hour before bedtime, they're loaded with potassium which prevents muscle cramps. Try it... it's worth a shot!

I dream about my mom too. I personally believe she can be at rest & still occasionally check on me. Seeing her & hearing her far outweighs missing her so much upon waking. I am going to miss her regardless so I treasure her visits and always listen for messages.

  • mel you seem much more content since you switched to zyprexa in my opinion. i suggest a good strong cup of coffee in the morning to shrug off that groggy meds feeling - that was my strategy with many meds i've been on. may i ask what dose your doc has prescribed for you?

  • i hate that restless legs thing - i get it once in a while. some drugs can help a lot with that so you could ask your doctor. i found a small dose of ambien (5mg) worked well for this but you don't want to take it too often if you're already on a sedating med like zyprexa - just when you really need it =)

  • I used to have restless legs. They would take me into the nearest Pub and make me stand at the bar. Seriously the best way to get muscles to relax is to exercise them. My best relaxation is always after a good session in the gym.

  • Do you take Zyprexa? If not then your views on restless legs is useless to Mel - because she speaks about restless legs caused by her medication.

  • @deliciousonionsoup What views have I expressed on 'restless legs?' Dear Lord I hope you're not attempting to take my little joke about the Pub seriously, are you?

  • No, I was going on about the restless legs advice you gave of doing more exercise. I just asked if you'd been on Zyprexa - meaning that anyone who hadn't couldn't really say that exercise for the restless leg thing from it would actually help.

Anyway I was resenting you for having had a go at me yesterday - having made an assumption about what I had meant. So I was having a go at you today. Sorry - I apologise.

  • I gave no advice on restless legs, I simply stated a generality that to help relax muscle exercise helps. Your comment yesterday seemed a little careless and I must admit your user name presented in capitals was mistaken by me for Mels hater. So I apologize for that had I known it was you I would have been much more subtle, sorry.

  • @BiodegradeableMan Actually your username is not in capitals but for some reason it appeared to me to look like the sort of name Mel's troll uses. sorry.....

  • hello melinda, Im glad that you are feeling better. Im wondering if the extra longterm sleep may be due to the restless leg issue. I mean you could be tensing them in your sleep some. Keep in communication with your Dr on anything different you have encountered since switching meds. I have always had the opposite problem, inability to sleep at all lol, doesnt help my health Im sure. Having peace within ourselves is such a gem these days, Im so happy you have that :) GOD Bless You hun :)

  • if i remember right the doctor had told me it takes some time to adjust .things will be normal in no time. your okay mel! smile & the whole world smiles with you. always, paul :)

  • Hello Mel, It is good that your new meds are helping you.... the leg cramps for me are quite painfull but they are not that frequent. I guess all we can do is hope things improve....life is not always fair it seems...regards...

  • Be careful. I had that restlessness and it was a sign I was heading for 'induced Parkinson's'. It is a side effect of some psychiatric drug or other. I don't know which one.

  • You sound like you're doing well! I'm really happy for you. If I were you I'd try to keep the sleep amount closer to 10-12hrs though, because your body *does* need to be active. However I understand that you cannot control the side effects, just a suggestion :)

  • Wonderful results you are doing great, i learn plenty from your mind

I have spoken of how these video expressions have assisted me..... to my Mother.

    because:

we are close in age and often argue

i am always reminded to be grateful for her, when I see you.

    ≈Merci

  • it's probably akathisia. common side effect of anti-psychotics. your doc can prescribe something, usually cogentin, to help with the restless legs.

  • @seoul75

That's totally right! Are you in the medical field, by chance? Don't feel pressure to answer just curious. I'm a medical student and I'm RIGHT now studying for a neuro exam for tomorrow (well, obv not RIGHT now...) and antipsychotics are all over the thing. I had to look up "akathisia" earlier haha.

  • ha ha... yeah- not a dr but i've worked in the psychiatric field for years and our clinic specializes in schizophrenia so needless to say alot are prescribed cogentin (or benzotropine) to counteract the akathisia from their neuroleptics (anti-psychotics)

good luck on the exam :)

  • It can be really overwhelming to have sleeping issues...I've experienced symptoms of insomnia, as well as oversleeping due to different medications for depression. :( Luckily, life has improved for me slightly and I am able to sleep normally again. 2-3 years of crazy sleeping patterns really made me appreciate normal sleep. I hope the best for you. These videos are a good way to document changes or side effects of medications. :) Thanks for the idea.

  • Wow, happy memories is a good thing. :)
