  • i think i have this i felt very weak hands where shaky and i feel a need to eat then i bought a soda at the store and felt normal again

  • Thank you for posting and making this video for the last 6 months I’ve been thinking that I’m going mad with constantly having panic attacks, I now understand that I could quite possibly be going through phase 1. All other my symptoms are pointing towards diabetes. I need to see my doc. Thanks once again.

  • WOW what a dynamic instructor. Could deal with his lectures ANYTIME!!!

  • Wow. I love this instructor. He actually teaches!!!!! What nursing school is this?????

  • To think I might have to get re- evaluated on my low blood sugar now.

  • @tspirit99 thank you for taking time and anwser me my question...

  • I just had this happen to me couple of hours ago, it has happen the last 6 years. Just sometimes, though. But I hate it so much, I seriously feel like I'm about to die sometimes.

  • My friend shakes really hard, sweats and then FREAKS OUTTTTTT!!! jumps around, aggresive, violent, shouts and screams... He even speaks a bunch of stuff which i cannot respond back because he doesn't understand. he has also split his knee open once, had a head the shape of an american football. He's reactions are way different to any other. I didn't know if his sugar level was low or high... to what i have learnt is not to worry about sugar being high, GIVE THEM LOTS OF SUGARR!!

  • can somebody answer me a question ... im 5'10 and 180 pounds. i go to the gym 5 times a week so all the pounds are on the right places. i felt so tired last couple of months and went to the doctor he told me that everything was okay that only my sugar was low 43 i think normal is 70 to 100 he told me it was hypoglycemia its that posible?.

  • @cesarcoply I think you mean 4.3, that is actually the right level in a non-diabetec person... 7-10 is around the level a diabetec person should be at... if you are at the gym, you clearly aren't getting enough sugar in your blood. There is no excuse for your sugar level to be so low unless you are on a low carb diet.

  • @cesarcoply you may be working out to long or to much my blood sugar go;s down when i walk to much (5 miles) buy a meter and check the #'s

  • Actually had and episode today while trimming brush in a ditch on the side of the road. i made the mistake of skipping breakfast that morning and i regret it. ended up collapsing on the side of the road, thankfully my neighbor drove by and saw me lying there and put me in the back of his truck and took me home. he got my fruit and water and i bounced right back.

  • I am type . I never sweat when my bsl drops but I do feel nauseous and get cranky and upset. I am sick of the way family and others blame my irritable hypoglycemic mood on me when I don't think it's my fault. Always remember that a diabetic can't help being upset or angry when their bsl is low!

  • @MrEdufication Let them know, take care of yourself, ... My mom is a diabetic and i understand,

  • i like this...i think i have hypoglycemia,,,i always get shaky, moody and diaphoretic when i havent eaten in a while of even within 4 hour or my last meal :(

  • Scenario-pt received regular insulin 0730. Now 0800 & breakfast is late. Insulin rxn-pt weak & shaky. Regular insulin very rapid acting within 30 min it goes to work.

Impt* Teach pt who just received insulin shot that the nurse should be notified if breakfast is late or pt feels weak or shaky.

Helpful Hint*Leave a small glass of orange juice or some other kind of juice at bedside. Instruct pt if meal does not arrive in time-drink juice and call nurse!

Pt can go n2 coma if blood sugar too low!!

  • @efanojeis hypoglycemia can be caused by diabetes but that's not only the case. I'm hypoglycemic but not diabetic. Severe cases (extreme hunger) are life threatening but normal cases like mine aren't.

  • IM getting tested on thursday for diabetes/hypoglycemia. I feel so uncomfortable and anxious when I have most of the symptoms especially during work. Maybe the answer is: I do have it. Who knows.

  • Diabetes post:

Dr Neal Secrist said he has been able to get some people off of insulin and able to reduce insulin in others by up to 40% would you like to reduce your insulin by up to 40% using a natural product that also helps with weight loss and cholesterol?

  • @freedomwon This is not relevant to type 1 diabetes you ignorant dumb fuck. People like you are ignorant. This is for type 2 you idiot. Type 1's don't produce insulin. Period. Paragraph. Get educated and stop posting bullshit.

  • Thankyou so much :)

  • awesome teacher, bad cameraman

  • I tried overdosing on my insulin I went into phase 2 I also experienced almost being paralyzed. I had locked myself into my bedroom and I couldn't move myself out of bed it was very scary, I obviously was unsuccessful but the slurred speech was incredible your tongue almost gets paralyzed too your just a mumbling fool. Emergency personnel broke down my door bc I happened to roll on my cell phone and call my mother during the night..

  • so i have extreme fatigue and weakness in my body especially my legs... are these symptoms?! :(

  • is hypoglycemia = diabetes? is it life-threattening

    ??

  • Thank you kindly. I found out recently that I am hypoglycemic and your video helped me understand more clearly what signs to watch for. I've been experiencing all of these symptoms at some point and regretfully, especially when I spiral out of control becoming irritated and angry, it has been very hard for my loved ones around me. Thank you and compliments on your teaching style.

  • What a wonderful goldmine I stumbled across tonight preparing for a SIM lab tomorrow. Wish you were my teacher!!!

  • TMI=Too Much Insulin. My favorite phrase.

  • thank you so much. really helped

  • You explained hypoglycemia very well and is a great teacher.

  • This was very helpful...I like this man's style of teching I didnt get bored and I knew what he was talking about!!!!!

  • This is how I decided to kill myself. Overdose of insulin and heroin+cocaine so I can feel nice while doing it.

  • you are an excellent teac her i was recently diagnosed with hypoglycemia , your are very informational much more than my own dr. where do u teach?

  • are halucinations part of a symptom of this? Whenever I have an episode, I get really light headed, and everything I see seems to be surrounded by fire (I believe I'm halucinating at that point); the last time I had an episode, a friend gave me some coke to drink and I felt better almost immediately

  • I like this teacher

  • I deeply appreciate that !!!

  • I went into phase 2 once. I knew I was going to die. The impaired judgment is so true, I couldn't think. On my way to the hospital, I was fighting it and there was a moment when I thought I was just going to give in. Fortunately we realized I was diabetic ! One juice and wow !

  • My whole family hates me and all the kids at school think im annoying. Im going to overdose on insulin. I dont know if it will be worse than low blood sugar or will i just pass out and never wake up.

  • No that is not the answer, we can feel hated but sooner or later we find people that love us, School can be a very unkind envirenment but that is not the whole world. There are so many fun things

  • I always go to phase 2. Im never able to get someone to help becuase either:

    1.They think im joking

2.i cant get my message across

  • i think i have either an anxiety disorder or extremly low blood sugar

  • Great video....you are an excellent teacher...please put more health related videos...Thanks!

  • I hope you find these helpful God willing I will be able to many more of these in the future

  • thank you God bless!

  • cant anyone feel the effects of hypoglycemia if they havnt eaten?? plz reply

  • I'd love to be in this guy's class, his style of teaching is very good, very clear and to the point. I have recently being diagnosed as pre-diabetic, so I'm not having any treatment. However I have many of the symptoms of hypoglycaemia, especially the shaking hands. I've started to have weird anxiety feelings that come and go and just wondered if someone could desribe what the anxiety feeling is like. Also is it normal to have 2-3 episodes of this a day. Thanks.

  • The anxiety is just that. You often feel like you are going to die. The fight or flight causes your heart to race. Hypoglycemia is usually caused by the medication or insulin. You feel like you are going to die for good reason. You are ! Unless you eat. Type 2 diabetes is different from type 1. Hypoglycemia is a very common side effect from the medication used to lower your sugar levels if you are type 2.

  • Great video. I am a self-diagnosed hypoglycaemic after giving up on "professional" doctors who don't seem to have a clue here.

I had this raft of symptoms for many years before accidentally discovering that carbs were my worst enemy. Very late on in life I've now found diabetes to be rampant on one side of my family's ancestors with glaucoma, Alzheimer's and amputations

My intolerance to carbs has worsened dramatically as I have gotten older and it's great to have the symptoms nailed down

  • You can do a simple finger stick by a blood sugar monitoring device. Yes there are other ways you can have a hypoglycemic episode, subject of another discussion

  • I heard that even a non-diabetic person can experience a hypoglycemia episode. if this happens, how would you know that she is hypoglycemic if she's not diabetic?

  • well diabetes and hypoglycemia are different......

diabetes is were your body does not create enough insulin....hypoglycemia is were u create too much and need sugar

  • whats the best/most painless way to die, im just curious, i heard an Insulin overdose is actually harmless, you just slip into a dizzyiness tired state, fall asleep, and thats it, is this true??

  • I am type 1 diabetic and a nursing student. Those syptoms are very accurate i think, from personal experience.
