Firefly bloody needs to be continued in my lifetime dammit. Sure, it had its cheesy bits, and Nathan Fillion probably carried a bit too much of the show's weight on his shoulders. Still, the feeling I get when I re-watch any Firefly episode is a high that isn't readily availiable anywhere else.

Firefly was an amazing show...all 14 episodes of it. I contend that had it lasted 5 seasons we'd have had our fair share of dumb episodes and we wouldn't have the cult following it has now. Don't get me wrong, I loved Firefly and I truely wish we had more to watch, but good luck naming a long running series that doesn't have a few episodes you wish just weren't there. That being said, I still listen to this song, and watch the episodes whenever I can 'cause they just feel good.

@JesterTDA - I agree that had the series not been cancelled, eventually there would have been some episodes that were not as good as the rest--look at "The Office", for a current example of a show whose quality has worn thin with time. But I disagree that "Firefly" wouldn't have had the cult following it does. OK, maybe not exactly the same cult following, since it's predicated on what really happened--the cancellation. But I think there would still be a strong and devoted audience.

Frankly, I can handle the few of the "Ugh" ones, and the last season of Buffy, if I got 5 solid seasons' worth of episodes of Firefly. If they bring it back it won't be like it was before, especially if it's set after Serenity's events. I'm willing to risk my emotional ties to see new episodes though.

@JesterTDA In my opinion, it really only needed a three season arc. First season is the build up as to just how important River Tam is. Second season would be a drawn out version of the film Serenity. Third season would be about a Second War of Independence.

@Kiw0x after serenity, it'd be pretty hard to make more chronologically. I suppose they could just go back and rehash some of the character's adventures, or make a spin-off series about the war, but they couldn't go back to firefly and tell us anything more about reavers, book's background, or a number of other secrets, which would essentially make the show not work very well, since you found out something new at LEAST every couple/few episodes if not every episode..

There are good shows out there. Hard to find, but IMHO there are a couple that are the slightest bit better than Firefly (Breaking Bad for instance). What I am sad about is that there was only one movie...there could have been two or three, they would have made a killing, and it wouldn't have felt rushed like it did

I'm sorry to critique you but, assuming you haven't studied up on the creators, you're not aware of the author's position. The original producers of this show may be having problems or have broken up as the result of some kind of conflict. I'd rather have Firefly die and be remembered than live and be forgotten. If the original artists will not return to the series then no-one should re-create it for the simple reason that it would no longer be Firefly.

Nothing can replace Firefly for what it was. But that doesn't mean that other producers/writers/etc can't play with the idea to create something similar, with same context, and another memorable casting. It's merely one of my hopes that atleast some form of Firefly will return. And if it's good or bad, that'll be up for the viewers to decide on that. I'd surely give it a try. Even if you give the now 40 year old Nathan Fillion the captain part again, I think that would be just great.

The reavers were insane berserkers. River was insane, but programmed to be the ultimate efficient killing machine. The reavers had no plan, no skill, only the fact that they didn't care if they died, and they were fighting each other to be the first one to get at her. Together, this makes it feasible, if unlikely, that she could indeed kill the reapers as fast as they came at her.
