  • You know how you hear 'Satanic messages' if you play Stairway to Heaven backwards? It's been proven that if you don't know what the message is supposed to say, you don't hear anything out of the ordinary - just jarbled noises. I'm assuming this is going along the same lines with this doll. Either that or someone at Fisher Price felt like irritating a whole lot of butthurt parents. I highly doubt it's some sort of great Islamic conspiracy to change the world into Muslims through some lame doll.

  • they tried to say it was a overly compressed sound file but I heard it before I heard any talk about it, I work at target so i walk past these thnigs everyday while scanning outs. they finally pulled them shortly after the talk got widspread

  • I was just at Target yesterday and my daughter was playing with this doll in the cart the whole time we were there. I just googled them to find her one. Don't think she'll be getting one now.

  • all of these dolss should have been pulled of the shelves from last year... I wonder how you got one still.

  • I don't know if I would get the message unless I had heard what it should be, 'cause unfortunately I hear about this "islam doll" long before I even saw one XP People have a tendency to hype these things...

  • lol "Kira is not Light" <-death note related

  • I can't make out any words of any kind. It's just baby noises.

  • "Salami isn't tight."

After that, she just sort of moans and grinds...

    See, just innocent everyday baby-talk.

  • it is saying Islam is the light.

i say we sue fisher price

  • "Salami isn't tight." See, just innocent everyday baby talk..

  • The doll clearly says, "Islam is the light." I work at Wal-Mart and we pulled the things off the shelf just because of customer complaints. Just for fun we recorded it and slowed it down. About 1/2 speed it's even clearer. I wont lie and I could just be hearing the phrase because that what I was first told it was, but really out of all other ideas of what it's saying: when slowed down only, "Islam is the light" is the most correct sounding. The others just don't fit the word separations correct.

  • Clearly says "Islam is the Light!"...This kind of Crap is exactly what we are going to see here in America if the piece of scum obama is elected president. And if it isn't saying that phrase, then why did Wal-Mart pull all of them from their shelves?????

  • Ohhhh boy. Another hapless victim of McCain's scare tactics and smear campaign. Mommy media has worked wonders on you.

  • are you a total retard? what part of this has ANYTHING to do with the presidential campaign?

  • Perhaps you should read all the comments before blowing up. I'll give you a hint. If you wanna see a retard, go down and take a look at Crockettmv86's comment.

  • what, do you hate islam?

  • I think if anything is being "said"...It sounds like "Look mom...it's a light." but, the only thing the doll is programmed to say is "mama"...the rest is jibberish...

  • muslims didnt put that in the doll...

    so wot's ur point???

    please let me know...

    thank u

  • How stupid so many people are... a doll spouting random gibberish becomes an object of anti-Islamic bigotry. There are many dolls and action figures that have been the subject of slander from many wackos out there. Usually they think the doll is telling the children to kill someone, or something sexual, but this time it's Islamic. Fucking morons.

  • well said

  • bet u thought it said islam is the light when u first heard it too, so i wouldnt be talking if i were u

  • People like you make me embarrassed to be an American. You assume I thought it said "Islam is the light" for no reason, nevermind that the news reports explicitly stated that phrase since the beginning, and that's what the issue was for those who want the doll off the shelves. I have no idea WHAT I would have thought the doll was saying, because I never had the chance to hear it without being inclined to think a certain way.

  • However, when I heard the actual sound clip of the file posted online (which you can find yourself), it sounds NOTHING like "Islam is the light." It is clearly random gibberish. Having a background in programming and linguistics, it's blatantly obvious that nothing intentional occurred. And it should be blatantly obvious for those who don't have that background. If you are an adult and you really think there's a conspiracy here, you need help. You need SERIOUS help. And your schools failed you.

  • Mattel, which owns the Fisher-Price brand, insists the "Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle & Coo" is scripted only with "realistic baby sounds" and the only word intentionally programmed in each toy is "mama."

  • YOU ALL NEED TO GROW YOUR PENUT SIZE MEMORY, how rude u r with someones religon, although you claim to a very civilized nations. islam has got nothing to with extremism, it is religon of peace and light, your doll is saying right. thats some people who represent it wrong. i live in uk and i love uk may be more than any english person. our judgements are always wrong for this reason we need to do test to find right or wrong. we need to get out of the a small box and think bigger.

  • well, how do we need to grow up when you say "penut" (spelled wrong) "u" and "r".

  • yes my dear friend, thanks for letting me k now about penut spelling, however you know what it means, spell doesnt metter. take care

  • yep...

  • It also says: "Americans are paranoid !!"

  • i don't speak baby.

  • I wouldn't accept it if it said "Jesus is the light" or "God is great" or any other religious statement.

This is a free country. Businesses are free to sell what they want to sell and people are free to buy (or not buy) whatever they choose. The point is that this doll is being sold as just a baby doll ... with no indication that it says anything about any religion.

I'd also want to know if a toy promoted a political position.

Don't you want to know what your children are exposed to?

  • If a parent really cared and payed attention to what their children were exposed to they would check the item out b4 buying it. Like i do with my children, then if it was something i dont like them to have then i have that choice. dont like dont buy it. no big deal.

  • If it said something about Christianity then it would be accepted. It just said Something is the light and god forbid its a crime now. What happened to this is a free country to worship what you want and the right of speech or its just when its convenient 4 u.Dont like it dont buy it. Simple people.

  • Why would a doll say "incline in the right"? What does that mean?

If you'd read the comments above, you'd see that I already noted that the doll doesn't say anything even remotely close to Satan.

And I've never seen any video showing otherwise.

And I already acknowledged that this isn't about "hate." It's about promoting religion.

If I wanted a religious doll, I'd buy one.

  • You are asking what it means? I tell you. Nothing! They have recorded real cooing of a real baby and found it cute and though it might sell. Cooing babies not only don't know anything about Islam or any other religion, they don't even know the difference between left and right. That's because they are too pure to care about these stuff.

But the twisted mind of a media affected adult will look for a news headline in the barking of a dog. Well, not ADULT! You know what I mean.

  • This is the real playback from the making company. Doesn't sound any thing like what you imply. It's more like "incline in the right".

    centralmediaserver;com\kjrh\docs\doll;mp3

(replace ; with dot and \ with /)

Another good question is why a doll allegedly promoting Islam would say "Satan is king." Answer: it wouldn't.

And lastly, by what stretch of the imagination would uttering the phrase "Islam is the light" constitute "spouting hate"? Answer: it wouldn't.

  • Well Archimetaus; why would any major American reputable toy company put out a doll that said anything like "incline to the right"? We're talking about little children's toys here, not code busting for adults. Why should these big name toy companies sell any talking toy if the average person young or old can't tell what the drip the toy is talking about? It's not like the toy came from a dollar store, or a product from 1960; we're talking enough money buy decent voice technology in 2008.

  • Exactly! just as you mentioned why would any major American reputable toy company put out a doll that said anything like "incline to the right". I ask why would any major American reputable toy company put out a doll that said anything like "Islam is the light" or anything meaningful at all?

It's a coo doll and it's meant to be cooing not preaching.

They are conditioning the American society to see meaning in meaningless stuff and remain blind to what happens in the REAL world. Don't you see?

  • I see.

  • omg

  • aww thats sooo cute

  • That things head seems like it wants to spin all the way around.

  • I work at Toys R Us and the ones there say "Alkaida is the Light." They were creepy to begin with, but now I'm going to warn anyone who wants to buy one.

  • ROFLMAO!!! PLEASE make a video of the ones that say Alkaida is the Light. This is so stupid; you people are so funny.

  • "islam is the light"

and i heard it BEFORE someone told me what i was supposed to hear. they are taking them off the shelves at target and walmart around here.

  • Because the doll doesn't say "Satan is king."

The lady must have been hallucinating when she heard that phrase.

  • Why has noone posted a video where it says "Satan is King". That is what I would be more worried about.

  • creepy ass doll...saw it on the news
