They're good at hiding the puppeteer. I can tell you that.

it was done using a from of composting, i was dresed in black, firts they shot a plate with just the cannon, then i got in place and they digitally removed me from the scen using the plate thye had shot, if you look at the last scene with the chicken cover her ears you can see two other chickens that were composited into the scene as well (I was the only on puppeteer on this shoot)

the Blinks are GCI, they didnt have the budget or the time to have me build eye blinks,

the rest of the puppet is perfromed like anyother hand /rod puppet, i think they did some rod removal
