im not too sure i would feel comfortable using a weapon that has that weak of a spring. of course i have never owned a glock so I'm not too sure if that is typical
I tried it with my stock spring. The only way is to get the firing pin locked but not enough to chamber the round. I think a light spring and technuqe is involved.
It's production Glock not race gun. Find here in you tube "How To Perform A One Handed Load by Rob Romero" to see how he done it to multiple production glock and M&P's. People who says you can't do it or it's not practical just don't know USPSA or tactical shooting. There is an application for this trick and this is just momentum (physics). It can be done with practice and it is a good skill to have in competition and in combat.
This is not a production class Glock. It is a longslide Glock 24 in .40 SW, which is not legal for USPSA Production division or IPSC. Further, the mags used have extended capacity basepads that A) won't fit inside the USPSA box while inserted into the gun and B) would be of no value anyway in Production because the max round count allowable in any mag at the start of the buzzer is 10. Regardless of the division, it is quite allowable to change/lighten the recoil spring and highly common.
That's Rob Romero. He's a semi professional shooter for the Noveske Shooting Team. He is a Grand Master level USPSA shooter and a top 3 gun shooter. If you watch 3 Gun Nation you will see him competeing and winning. He's spent a lot of time with a pistol and yes he's that good!
10-15 yards is absolutely practical for what a pistol i designed for... and it's something that takes a lot of practice to get right in competition and even more so when your life is on the line.
@TheBlueMeanie Competition pistols aren't practical for anything other than target shooting though, so its really not good practice for self defense, unless you're using the same pistol or type of pistol that you use.
@MohammedPoopChute I invite you to throw a video up on YT showing eveyone what practical shooting looks like if USPSA isn't what practical is to you. Really, nothing preventing you at all. I also invite you to visit for some simunition or airsoft force on force. Maybe after you experience the practicality of all that drawing fast, shooting fast and accurate, reloading fast, and doing all that on the move at moving targets, you'll reconsider. Otherwise, yer a trolling blowhard.
Cool but ultimately just a trick of no real world use.
Cue some tacticool muppet (nutnfancy?) high on crack: "Hey dude, it is really useful if you're like taking on a plane full of terrorists and they have blown your left arm off with an RPG and as team leader you cannot let the team down. You can pop smoke and flash-bangs from your ass, do your tactical reload, and save the innocent passengers and kittens"
LOL that guy is so annoying. 40 minutes to review a flash light. he loves to hear himself talk. he is a narcissist i bet. who names a project after them self? LOL
It's rather practical for shooting games like USPSA, he's able to pick up the prop, and rack the gun at the same time which saves a lot of time, which is what the game is all about.
A couple of us have figured out other things to do with our guns besides self defense. Not everything is about being a tactical operator and dreaming about shooting at people.
I run one of the biggest and oldest USPSA clubs in Washington besides being a USPSA NROI Certified Range officer. I'm also a sponsored shooter with the biggest USPSA team in the US. So yes, I've been to a few. I think most people that don't understand our sport would categorize what we do as showboating.
lol, really? Look at my Youtube channel. My name, club and sponsors are prominently mentioned all over my videos. My USPSA number is A59807, feel free to look me up. My clubs name is Renton Practical Shooters. Go to the USPSA website and you will find my name associated as the clubs president.
@aristotle13 Respect where it is due - you are quite accomplished at firing a huge amount of rounds at 10-15 feet and sometimes hitting the target. It is impressive but hardly 'practical'.
lol, feelings hurt much? How did it go from talking about this video, to proving that I've been to a few USPSA matches to attacking me personally now. I'm not bragging, I'm just letting you know that I have been to a few USPSA matches, and also to say that what this guy does in the video is in fact practical for how we shoot USPSA. If you disagree, that's fine. Relax, it's not always you against the world.
OK. Took me about 15 minutes of trying but I can do it on my Glock 21SF no problem. It becomes easier with the factory Glock tactical light installed. My gun is unmodified save for a stainless guide rod (still has factory weight spring installed). Pretty cool, thanks for the video!
