  • i need a scholarship--please help!

  • @JohnBlandly Your best bet for scholarships or other financial assistance would be to talk to one of our Admissions Advisors. You can get in touch with them online at vfs(dot)com/speaktoanadvisor. Thanks!

  • Typically, in this course, does the student create everything in the vfx reel from modeling, rigging the 3d character/car/etc to the final composite, or is the 3d model created by another student?

  • @bouchandre All students in the 3D Animation &Visual Effects program learn the basics of modeling and animation before specializing. Typically, a student will create all the elements you see in the reel. The breakdowns in the video will show what the student did for the reel. Thanks!

  • awsome work!

  • reminds me of dog from hl2

  • What program is used for creating the Monkey?

  • @flashman88 From the looks of it, Maya

  • does is this "digital design"? or it's 3d and visual effects? please respond soon, 8^)

  • This piece was created through our 3D Animation and Visual Effects program. For future reference, you can always find this information in the video info box to the right of the video. Thanks!

  • not be kinda judgmental, but the car that got knocked over by the ape machine was pretty small compared in scale to the guy with the remote. but very creative all in all. i still give a 5 out of 5

  • I agree

  • that was f***ing awesome

  • Awsome, but the car could've sustained more damage...and the physics applied to it when it got hit is kind of blocky

  • OH my God!

    For IronMan the movie?

    Whoa!

  • Wow..very impressive! i love it

  • Outstanding.

  • maya for 3D and for compositiong????????

  • does vancouver teach game designing also or only graphic design and visual effect?

  • There is indeed a very successful Game Design program at VFS - check our website, VFS(dot)com, for info.

  • Incredible work. I have wanted to enroll on this course at Vancouver Film School but the$50,000 fee is way out of my reach.

  • That's really pretty cool. I'm not sure if I'll get a response from this, but, is has the owner of this demo reel been hired?

  • the owned is a student, so maybe, and maybe not.

  • The student in question is a graduate now. He most recently worked as an animator on Iron Man.

  • That`s so cool!

  • ok. i want to go there when im old enough.

is there a website i could go to?

  • I Loooo-oooo-oooo-ve this demo reel!!!:D

  • Omg i have never seen these kind of monkeys in zoo:p

  • looks great! hey guys I bet u work on some movie fx right now. It would be a waste not to.

  • he uses maya

  • I want this program.How much? :-)

  • Its called Maya, and its quite expensive, though less so the last few years.

But dont bother getting it, it'll take you a few years to be able to actually work with it, and many many MANY years before being able to do something like this.

So unless this is what your planning to work on with yer life, aim lower :p

  • You could also pirate it of the net for free and buy a book about how to learn maya. Spend a bit of time and you can do stuff similar to this.

  • Wow! thats amazing, what programs do u guys use?

  • im so jealous

  • really great work, the timing, the motion, the interaction, the lighting... to put it short, it was really good work - impressive
