I was going to rate this video five stars but then I saw that there was eleven rates and I didn't want to change that because it's eleven rates for eleven people.
This is a really cool idea...unfortunately, I'm posting a few weeks too late, and besides, the only arts I'm moderately okay at are writing and acting. I'm also learning guitar..but that doesn't help either. haha. Good luck to you, and to everyone participating. And congrats on quitting smoking!
Anyone who's interested in being involved should still comment! I'm going to send out a big email to everyone who voiced interest shortly. I honestly didn't think I would get so many responses so I'm going to have to figure out how to narrow it down :)
Looks like I'm the 17th person to comment, so I guess I'm lower on the list, but I'm totally in if you feel like mailing something all the way to Ontario :)
That sounds exciting, not going to put myself forward, not least because of geographical reasons and that art and myself are also polar opposites. I can't wait to see the finished project though so hope that it exceeds your expectations.
It would also be great for the ignorant amongst us, ok myself, whether it is (just) art sent by mail or something more subtle that that (and then sent through the mail) that makes it art mail?
Xethian - that's a good question. To me, "artmail" is basically a large package stuffed full of mixed media items, and typically the container is incorporated in some fashion. I sortof wish I had photos of the packages I put together back in college. Some were pretty amazing.
And ze brains are coming. My videographer from the event and I are still working out times when we can get together to edit it down. :)
Looks like you have plenty of help already, but I'm always one for trying to make the world a slightly more artsy place. Plus, typewriters just kind of rule.
If you need anyone else for any reason I would be up to being involved in you're newest event. I believe you already have your eleven though, but if one of them falls through please consider me a ready option to get in contact with. By the way, congrats on still being smoke free!
My dad found an old typewriter in a dumpster once, he brought it home for me to learn to type on. The space bar was broken (thus, why it was in the dumpster to begin with) but I still loved it to death! My mom made us throw it out after a few weeks, though. :(
That sounds so amazing!!!!!! I'm artistically challenged but I love people who can be unplugged and make something beautiful. So I hope you consider me.
I remember having to use a typewriter to do stuff for school, or just typing out random stuff for fun. Wish we still had that. Like records, it'd be something cool to show my kids/grandkids someday.
This art/story collab project sounds pretty cool. It'll be interesting to see what comes of it.
I commented on facebook cuz I saw it there first, but I'll comment again cuz you're so darn awesome. I'm excited to see what comes of your idea- it sounds amazing. p.s. I really like your U.P. t-shirt. You should sell them and give the proceeds to shawn :) I'd totally buy one!

'd love to participate, but I'm not entirely sure what to do (if anything).
