@DragonInfraXtremeRGT In the US, the WRX wasn't available until 2002, and the STi wasn't until 2004. I'm not 100% sure what Canada had, but I think it's the same. And I don't know my Celica's, but being a Subie owner, I'd go with the WRX haha

@gund3rt The sedan and coupe are exactly the same except for the doors. The space inside (front and back) is the same. So you have 2 options...

-Get a coupe and love the styling, but have to pull the seats forward for 3 or 4 passengers.

-Get a sedan and like the styling (not too different from a coupe) but never have to move the seats.

I'm roughly 6'2" and can fit in the back without too many troubles. Sure my legs are slightly pushed up against the seat, but it works haha

The radio system, brakes and knock sensor are crap on those cars, plus the cup holders are retarded.

Brakes: I love them. What's to hate? They stop magnificently.

Knock Sensor: Mine was replaced around 40k miles by a previous owner, but I've never had any problems with it besides that.

Cup Holders: the front one above the HVAC is stupid as hell, and I've still never used it, but I just use the one in the center armrest area.

@XRunningtreeX Dude just find a nice set of BBS 18s... 18s look sick on AWD cars especially if you make the rear ones nice and wide. Wheels and tires are a very pricey area though... So much to into account, the fender walls so they don't rub and then getting new tires to fit, making sure the suspension wont get thrown off.... Oh the joys of modding a car!

Not nearly as expensive, but also look nice. Also, as far as rubbing the fenders, I might get some fender flares and rivet/mold them on, so I've got some extra clearance for wheels/tires haha

Is it like Hondas where there is always the rear wheel well rust or do they rust pretty bad elsewhere too? Like the top of the windshield? Also how reliable are these? Still good past 100K miles? I am about to look at an RS some guy is selling here in Pittsburgh for $7000 It has 69,000 miles and of course all original, Its the silverthorne color. Is the RS quick? Its the "best" Impreza in the US until 2002, which is when Subaru introduced the WRX and STi trims to the US. There were WRX and STi trims in Japan and I believe Europe back in around 1993 (or whenever the Ver. 1 STi came out).

your transmission will be fine, that is, if you drive the car. meaning do not launch the holy crap out of it as if it was the sti six speed. The rs five speed will walk down the sti's transmissions on high way rolls, thats the real beauty of those five speeds.( send a messg if you have any Q's about that swap)

The previous owner replaced everything for the 90k tune up, and I mean literally everything. If there was no rust, no dents, and if it had the stock spoiler, this would be perfect...until I have enough for a WRX/STi swap lol

Most GC Imprezas do have headgasket problems I've heard. Should at least get it checked out around 90-95k

I could just take the backing plate off, but the car's temp is fine, and I don't want to suck in rain or leaves, etc. I know of someone who sucked a bird through the scoop and onto the intercooler of their WRX. I don't think it wrecked anything, but he said it was an interesting clean up lol
