  • FINALLY. a vid with an m1 garand WITH the ping :D

  • Moose??? is that all ya got??? down here in Southern Arizona we got Mexicans and they are packin some real nasty shit...

  • Although I liked the action on an M14 it was still the same ballistics as a 30-30, and a 30-30 is a weak , slow moving round that bleeds energy over 200 yards...no way are ever going to convince me about anything other than a 30-06..never... been shooting one for 50 years and yes I carried the M16 and would refuse to do again..

  • @raginroadrunner . the 308 and 30-06 are almost ballistically the same, the difference is negligible. The 30-30win is not even close in terms of power. The 30-30 is similar to the 7.62x39 Russian. Read your ballistics tables. I've shot moose with both, both dropped the same. Mr Moose couldn't tell the difference and I'm pretty sure people on the battle field couldn't either. Hornady has their superformance ammo available that will give the edge to the .308 when up against standard 30-06 ammo.

  • @faheykj...Don't tell anyone,,,but you must be smokin' some really bad weed to come up with anything like this..and NO...... I just didn't fall off the turnip truck...

  • @raginroadrunner 30-30win is the same as a 308win?.....and who's smoking weed? haha anyways, I prefer the heavier bullet options in the 30-06 for hunting moose, it is a great round. But in Canada, more moose have been dropped with weak 30-30's, 303 british and they are lower powered rounds than the 308 and 30-06. BTW, moose are often 1000lbs+ A bullet through the heart is a bullet through the heart.

  • The 5.56 round drops like a ton of lead over 200 yards and is not effective on a coyote beyond that range..it is cheap and nothing more..I would refuse to carry one again.....RR

  • Every GI I ever talked to that carried an M1 in combat..loved it..it blew through walls, arnor, cars, trucks, Germans, Japs and it was always one round to a customer..it was reliable, accurate, powerful and it was characterized by Commanders as the very tool that toppled the Third Reich...so my question is..is why the hell aren't our troops using it in Afghanistan rather than that POS M 16???

  • @raginroadrunner The M1 is a fine gun, just like the Model T was a fine automobile... when it was invented.

The simplest reason we got rid of it, is because it's hard to fire more than one round accurately in a short period, I'm assuming this is chambered for 7.62, and while that is a very powerful round, it's expensive, and in most situations overkill.

Statistically, the side that shoots more, kills more, and wins more. The M16 shoots more rounds, more accurately in the same amount of time.

  • @raginroadrunner I love the M1 Garand but saying our troops should be carrying now is crazy. M16 is not a POS by any means. There is a reason our military has used it for over 40 years: It works. 5.56 round has killed plenty a folks around the world. Give them the m14 back over the M1. Now that was a rifle

    *pling*

    love it :D

  • The one guy is shooting a 'rifle' That other thing off to the left......what is that :)

(I'm kidding if you don't for some reason pick it up)

  • I admire that form!

  • @Gordonalways1 yah i mean most people i see lean the weapon into them and bend there back backwards which makes the recoil much greater and its more heavy.
