It's really unfortunate that Terence McKenna is mentioned here for his Timewave Zero. He had such a brilliant mind, and was a keen observer of culture and history, mixed with Marshall MacLuhan and James Joyce, and his fascinating collusion of psychedelic plants and western science. We've been promised the end of the world since the first century a.c.e.. Jesus promised the end within the lifetimes of his disciples didn't he? Since then, we've had kooks galore. Nothing like selling advertising time for goofiness to be worthwhile to produce.
Pole shift? Sure no problem but it doesn't mean a physical shift of land mass. More easily just a realignment of the magnetism within the liquid core. In fact, this is already happening as the Earth's magnetic field is weakening.

@lizazoon True my friend, but all past predictions only had one or two things pointing out to it, that of which we now know would be impossible to happen. The thing about 2012 is that we have a lot of things pointing to it, and that scientists aren't certain about all of them.

Hmmm my only word for this is, what's wrong if the prophecy is true or not, the lesson is just be prepared of unexpected things nor events, it's not that when it already occurred it was only then you will prepare for the worst. . .
If you save foods or stuffs on this 2012 so called day and nothing happened, then you could celebrate it with a house party of some sort and made everyone happy in your neighborhood. . .
