Don't get me wrong because I love the GTR as well but the truth is Toyota can produce a GTR like car (They've made great turbo engines and supercharger kits, they have WRC titles and great off-road vehicles so they can use 4WD too and their top end models have lots of tech as well) but Nissan currently don't have what it takes to make the LFA. I mean the LFA engine alone is amazing: power of V10, size of V8 and weight of V6. No turbo of supercharger. Revs so fast and analogue can't keep up..
In terms of $, ppl have to take into account the engineering that goes into it as well as the feel. GTR is cheaper but 4WD, turbo, computer assistance is pretty cliche and just an upgrade from previous GTR. Performance-wise, it's awesome but it's less driver oriented. LFA is from scratch and the engineering is pretty unique among Japanese sports cars and other supercars (from the 552hp 4.8L N/A to the carbon/alu blend body). Being RWD and N/A it's more driver oriented as well.

Well lets do some math, the LFA makes 115 hp/liter, the Porsche GT3 makes 109hp/liter, but I still have some 260,000 dollars in my pocket to play with. you compare a single time attack lap vs real world ENDURANCE racing...this LFA race the 24h and the VLN endurance race series at the northloop...the key to success is not one quick lap but constant fast laps... neither LFA or GTR are doing well in the VLN..they get their ass handed every race by R8 LMS, SLS GT3, GT3 RSR, M3 etc... just look at the VLN result page... LFA never finished top 10 and GTR if I am not wrong never finished top20
WRONG!!!!!!!! LFA finished 5th overall. The engine is actually detuned to meet the SP8 (stock engine, with only aero mods) class requirement. The R8, GT3, etc are in the Cup class (highly modified)

1st. stock vs stock, 350 will lose and LFA will win - (350 not stock but still lose)
2nd. it depends on the drive, some may drive that LFA faster and some may not, obviously from the vid, that driver who drive LFA may not be good in-out cornering, but i never see 350 pass through that LFA, not even close to overtaking it, the distance just increases overtime.

I heard that Yamaha had developed that engine for Toyota ten years ago but Toyota never had need to use it. I think Toyota blew it with the whole car. It's a failed project.

The LFA is impressive... that Z33 is a full on race car... same with the built Porsche that appears half way through.... a stock vehicle able to run those race cars with street driveability and reliability! Impressive.
GTR is hands down the best car you can buy at the moment. Styling , Performance, Handling, for the most part beat all the cheap "supercars", vettes, gt500's etc. but most of all P R I C E! an average person can actually own one. you dont have to be a millionaire or work a 300k job. i work 60k atm, few years ill be at 80k i can definitely afford a GTR. and again price wise is affordability. im sure most supercars a brake job is 5k+ a gtr i would assume significantly less for any maintenance.

Just check out the videos of GT-R's racing Bugatti Veyron's. There are a couple videos where the GT-R plays with the Bugatti before beating them by about 20 cars or more.

@suprastar2 Don't think so, because as everyone knows already, the GTR isn't known for just it's speed in a straight line. It is also known for it's great lap times as well. Included in my "LFA budget" for my GTR is an allocation for a better suspension setup, including control arms, struts, springs, stabilizer bars, etc. Just saying, the GTR already beats the 911 Turbo handily in stock trim and it costs about 40k more and everyone knows how great that car is and has been.

actually its not a 350z its a FALKEN Nismo 380rs-c racing at the Nurburgring 24 hours. And yes it was beat by the lfa but only in the speed section not the corners. Plus the LF-A was in a higher class. Still good though
some sites say 7:23, others say 7:20. we'll have to wait and see. base on how quick it turns, it wouldn't surprise me if the official track time will be less than 7:20
this video doesn't make any sense. The car following the lexus is either a 350z or 370z judging from the interior. If they were actually racing eachother shouldn't the lexus be in front of the gtr not 350? If they're just showing who runs the fastest lap than its inaccurate because the camera should be inside the lexus in the top screen and should have the time on the side side for it's self.

The video and the sound are great. LFA is a proper 2 seater sports car. GT3 is a street legal race car. GTR is a practical gran tourismo that has amazing track performance. GTR with more boost and it's awd will win a short street race, especially in the wet, but there is no way it can win on the Nurburgring with it's higher center of gravity and narrower track. I wish that Toyota would build a practical GT like the GTR wth the beauty and affordabilty of the 2000 gt. Porsche needs a new 928.

You mean the Spec V? It's only a stripped and refined version of the GTR only has like 5 HP and 14 torque than the regular GTR. It's also almost double the price of a GTR. Doubt it'll come out in the US though.
i cant believe some of the posts im seeing here. first of all, the GTR had the track to itself...NOTE: there was no traffic. the LFA apparently didnt have a camera inside or the footage has not been released so the footage from the Z33 was used. the LFA had traffic to contend with because it was either track day or qualifying for the 4hr endurance race it ran in. all in all, for a track with traffic, the time was pretty good...

This time for the Lexus is uncomparable to the GTR's simply because it has to weave around too much traffic compared to the Nissan.

GTR is hands down the best car you can buy at the moment. Styling , Performance, Handling, for the most part beat all the cheap "supercars", vettes, gt500's etc. but most of all P R I C E! an average person can actually own one. you dont have to be a millionaire or work a 300k job. i work 60k atm, few years ill be at 80k i can definitely afford a GTR. and again price wise is affordability. im sure most supercars a brake job is 5k+ a gtr i would assume significantly less for any maintenance.

@illSlapYoMommaSilly Good points dude. All I have to say is let me sink only a third as much money in to my GT-R (R35) as that LFA costs, and I will run circles around them all day long. Just check out the videos of GT-R's racing Bugatti Veyron's. There are a couple videos where the GT-R plays with the Bugatti before beating them by about 20 cars or more.

@suprastar2 Don't think so, because as everyone knows already, the GTR isn't known for just it's speed in a straight line. It is also known for it's great lap times as well. Included in my "LFA budget" for my GTR is an allocation for a better suspension setup, including control arms, struts, springs, stabilizer bars, etc. Just saying, the GTR already beats the 911 Turbo handily in stock trim and it costs about 40k more and everyone knows how great that car is and has been.

That would be a 350z aka z33.. and yes it would get DESTROYED by a LF-A & GTR. And this isn't the official recorded L-A lap its simply a fan made video recorded at a event from a 350z chasing a LF-A. I dont know why they'd merge the two videos together IMO should've left the Z in full screen.. thats one impressive driver and car (350z)
It's Falken TEAM's 350z.. its VERY VERY heavily modified well tunned track/race car. Google team falken to see some of their cars.

actually its not a 350z its a FALKEN Nismo 380rs-c racing at the Nurburgring 24 hours. And yes it was beat by the lfa but only in the speed section not the corners. Plus the LF-A was in a higher class. Still good though

this video doesn't make any sense. The car following the lexus is either a 350z or 370z judging from the interior. If they were actually racing eachother shouldn't the lexus be in front of the gtr not 350? If they're just showing who runs the fastest lap than its inaccurate because the camera should be inside the lexus in the top screen and should have the time on the side side for it's self.

The video and the sound are great. LFA is a proper 2 seater sports car. GT3 is a street legal race car. GTR is a practical gran tourismo that has amazing track performance. GTR with more boost and it's awd will win a short street race, especially in the wet, but there is no way it can win on the Nurburgring with it's higher center of gravity and narrower track. I wish that Toyota would build a practical GT like the GTR wth the beauty and affordabilty of the 2000 gt. Porsche needs a new 928.

the bottom is a GTR the top is a Nissan 350 variant as well. it says it on the placard. please people pay attention. I love Japanese sports cars. Toyota and Honda are my faves Nissan hasn't really done anything to impress me. must we forget that NSX was the baddest car of its day and the Supra took some names as well. Toyota will murder a nissan products and so will honda if they actually produce them. I'm up for the competition. I miss the TT supra, TT 300zx, 3000gt, RX-7, NSX racing days.

You mean the Spec V? It's only a stripped and refined version of the GTR only has like 5 HP and 14 torque than the regular GTR. It's also almost double the price of a GTR. Doubt it'll come out in the US though.

i cant believe some of the posts im seeing here. first of all, the GTR had the track to itself...NOTE: there was no traffic. the LFA apparently didnt have a camera inside or the footage has not been released so the footage from the Z33 was used. the LFA had traffic to contend with because it was either track day or qualifying for the 4hr endurance race it ran in. all in all, for a track with traffic, the time was pretty good...
