  • Berlioz never scored for the tuba here. He scored for trombones, ophicleides and serpent. The latter are replaced by the tuba today. It does not sound the same as the original orchestration.

  • I can see that you're playing on a F tube.

  • @hugomak3 i hope you ment berlioz

  • @hugomak3

    Berlioz's not Wagner's !

  • More attack on the dies irae. Some of the excerpts arent at tempo with what is intended with an orchestra. Try listening to recordings in close detail. That should easily clear things up. Nice range

  • hey what mouthpiece model are you using ?

  • Helleberg

  • The intonation was a bit edgy. On the bell-tones second-to-last part, listen to the recording of Arnold Jacobs playing it. An easy way to listen to it without having to find a real recording is to go to windsongpress(dot)com, and listen to an "Arnold Jacobs Almost Live" video; they play the excerpt at the end of each video.

  • I think the stuffiness I hear is just the acoustics and the microphone. It sounds great!

  • Thats really good. The fact that you went on to hit the high Bb at the end was great.

  • pretty good man, but i'd check your tempi. some are slower then the written tempo while others are faster. you gotta play the ink until you have the gig.
