  • It's not the only place on earth where this happens, you can do it in Scotland too. Look up Electric Brae.

  • There is also a place in Dundalk, Co. Louth. Rep. of Ireland

  • @19shammy91 Electric brae in Scotland as well

  • Maybe the car has an auto transmission, its in reverse, and the reverse lights don't work.

  • To put it in layman's terms: the car is actually rolling downhill but because of the scenery surrounding the road, it looks like the car's going upwards. It's a known phenomenon & there are a few places around the world like this.

    Pretty cool.

  • There is at least one place in Oxfordshire with the same illusion, near the village of Middle Barton.

  • i bet that taxi driver makes a lot of tips.

  • would be a much more interesting video if you demonstrated the slope of the hill with a ball or something, because from the perspective of the camera it does appear the car is rolling downhill.

  • @sniboboof well a car can't roll uphill it's impossible (apart from in a very strong wind). A ball will do exactly the same thing if the slope is sufficient (it might just stay in one place). I think some hills might have something like the trees growing at an angle for which you can tilt the camera.

  • Agree with you , no trick , lot of places like this around the world. like KOREA , Ireland(Close to Dundalk County Louth, Ireland) and MADINA SAUDIA AREBIA ( near mandia city).thx for sharing .

  • Fucking magnetic hill, what a douche. xD If you think the earth's magnetic field gets strong enough to move a car up hill (Just exactly hoe does that logic work? Suddenly magnetic fields don't attract ferromagnetic objects but magically move them up hills?) you're an idiot...

  • @XChillX42 Fuck off u idiot it is natural hillthere no machianry at work its just the earth

  • @GetVibed What are you even talking about a natural hill, even a man made hill is still natural because nature encompasses everything. Like I said, the earth has nothing to do with this process, it's to do with the angle of the road against the landscape and surrounding foliage, if you want proof just go there with a compass and see if there is an abnormal magnetic field. If the force was strong enough to pull a car up a hill why weren't all magnetic objects?

  • @XChillX42 You dont evanlive there so stfu i do its the rock under the hill that pulls it up it has an up slant evan go there and put ur car it will slowly roll down or up!!

  • @GetVibed Shit son are you retarded? This is a documented phenomenon, just google gravity hills... It's an optical illusion and happens all over the world, this isn't the only place in the world.

  • @XChillX42 Yesi no tht -_- blocked -_-

  • @XChillX42 Btw u do no i was joking i was try to win a fake arguement but u are obviosly ur right u win all arguments fakeor not lol man u are aweosme!! :)

  • @GetVibed Fail troll is fail.

  • @XChillX42 No look at ur desc i was testing u :L i never troll but i was joking b4 :P

  • its acctually goin back down

  • Up? For me it's going down.

  • Ok, How funny would it be if he couldnt catch up with the car?

  • yes it is an illusion, if the landscape is correct a river will appear to run up hill, there are many places in the western U.S. where this is the case.

  • It's not magnets, it's a trick of the eye, the surrounding land hides the horizon so that it appears to be uphill.

  • There is a place in Indiana

  • so moronic

  • Not the only place, there is several places throughout the world that does this.

  • this is real there are many places like this all over the world, FACT i have been to one near me in ireland, and it really is amazing dat d cars roll up the hill, go find out for urselves and then ya'll kno :D

  • @DanielleBrennan89

    Mamore gap ;)

  • this is real there are many places like this all over the world, FACT i have been to one near me in ireland, and it really is amazing dat d cars roll up the hill, go find oou for urselves and then ya'll kno :D

  • there are many places like that in the world

  • the fairy trees are helping ya!

  • it is very strange, Ive cycled up it without pedaling its awesome :D

  • they made the fat guy get out cuz it wouldnt move lol.

  • DRAGONXD32 ,ive been to the one in ayr at night it has nothing to do with optical illusion you can scroll the page up and elliminate the scenery and still see that the road is downhill and the car go's uphill

  • Classic false rise illusion. I bet all the islanders take the visitors there and con them with this.

  • @JBofBrisbane

    to right we do! haha

  • if you take your foot off the clutch slowly in a diesel car it will not stall it will travel slowly. judging by the noise of the car its either a diesel or its knackered

  • @rickie1974 - or any vehicle with a manual gearbox, for that matter.

  • the road is slightly downhill, while its surroundings are slightly uphll. its a natural optical illusion.

  • @rogerbowering Mate this isn't the only magnetic hill.. there is one in ayrshire, scotland. Think its just outside ayr.. not sure tho, defo not the only one!

  • @tonyMBAS AND there is one in moncton new brunswick

  • Lets see it do that with the engine off!

  • check mine out, how does it work ,

  • And its nothing to do with magnetism - its apparently an optical illusion somehow?

There is one close to where I grew up in Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

  • Not actually the only place in the world that this happens - sorry.

  • omg i love it!! its feels well wierd when your actually in the car lol we did it last night..

  • There´s a place like this in Sweden too! Called Nipfjället.

It has to do something with the magnetic field or something, because some car will roll upwards some dont. We did put a Saab 9-5 and a Volvo V40, side by side with NEUTRAL gear. Nobody in the cars.... The Volvo DID roll upwards!!! the Saab didnt...

So i Guess this might be true also. =P

  • @zasz3 no - optical illusion created by not being able to set a bearing due to lack of view of the horizon

  • @redcliffepadres could be real tho

but i guess it's a car with automatic transmission, set in reverse gear

if you then have a clutch that doesnt work properly, you get things like this

  • @arachnadaja haha mate, it's going downhill, it doesn't need to be in reverse. You have to look really closely.

    Google magnetic hill

  • @zasz3 it's not magnetic, its just gravity pulling it downhill. The Saab probably doesn't roll as easy or something, binding discs etc.

  • its been left in reverse on tick over

and thing will roll up hill if its in gear.

I do it all the time, maybe I should youtube it.

  • @RDJPlumbing no

  • @RDJPlumbing its not been left in gear, its actually rolling downhill.

  • THIS MOVIE IS PLAYED BACKWARDS! FAKE!

  • its the background giving the illusion.

but yeh this vid does look like its downhill

  • @tottings no

  • @tottings

    not fake

  • Optial illusion my sweet ass. We used a level on a hill in Dundalk, in County Louth, and it indicated an OBVIOUS uphill slope. Even here, you can plainly see the road travels down and then levels out. Use your eyes and minds and stop reading the crap that's posted all over the internet

  • theres also two i know of in ireland in the dublin mountains.. magic roads we call them!

  • yea we have a lot of magic roads

  • its amazing O_O

  • this doesnt even LOOK uphill! They are all optical illusions, but this looks downhill lol

  • it looks like downhill? o.0

  • This is real i live on the isle of man and it does work!!

  • wrong

in canada nb it the same thing

  • I knew it was actually downhill I went there yesturday

  • lol

  • It is not the only hill on earth that this happns there is thousands around the world and its rolling downhill not uphill

  • hey, guys!i don't know what's going on in this case, but i've seen it .for real!

  • its an ''magnetic hill''

  • a) the car is going downhill

    b) if any car looks like it is rolling uphill, it is becase there is no horizon, and so therefore it is an optical illusion

  • put in spooks hill and check it out

  • i've actually done something like this before. Though i won't reveal the location :P hehe.. it's really quite amazing... and just to prove that it's not just a 'trick' with machinery ... we tried it with a regular aluminum pop can that was in the back of the truck and it rollled up the hill O_O i was freaked, but it was so freakin cool!

  • looks like its a automatic in reverse....

  • The Isle of Man is Great Britain NOT the UK!!! It has it's own parliament and does not strictly abide by UK laws!! You can do this on a bike as well as a car and you roll backwards. It really is no big deal but funny the IOM tourist board don't say anything about it in any of their bumpf!

  • this is fake because u cant see the horizon line, the video isnt fake, but the car is rolling down

  • if you see better, looks like the car is going down

  • I hate to be the one to tell you this, but there are dozens of places where this happens, it's just a 'magnetic hill'. Not that it's magnetic, or that the car is really rolling uphill, although I'm sure you know that. It's an optical illusion caused by the surrounding landscape...or...is it the Mooinjer Veggey!?!? Ho ho, as if. What's that....noise.....OH GOD, I CAN SEE THEM AT THE WINDOW. I WASN'T MOCKING YOU, HONEST!!! NO, NO, NOT MY FACE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Last time I looked the Isle of Man was nowt to do with the UK ...

  • is it not an offshore dependacy ??

  • IT IS REAL IT IS NOT AN ILLUSION ...DON'T BELIEVE ME ? THEN GO WHEN IT'S DARK, IT STILL WORK'S

  • @mysteak1 wrong
