jeez if u think the anime is gorey/lots of sex read the manga LOL and whats that at the end? sounds like u were saying Auf Wiedersehen (ouf VEE-dah-zayn) wtf? lol i dont get the reference are u german or did i mishear that? and it woulda been funnyer to say somethin like Seig Heil LOL :P
Berserk seems like a really cool anime, which I do hope 2 see someday. But I will never read a whole manga series ever again just 2 get to the true ending, because the anime stops in the middle of or after something. Am I right, Fruits Basket?
I love Judeau, too! he seemed to be the only one in the group that saw things the way they were. My fav character in this series, after Guts, of course!
People, read the manga..Ok first, the Dragon Slayer can kill monsters both from the physical and demoinc realms(because of the fact that Guts slayed too many astral ghosts and creatures, the blade is imbued with dark power),demons don't die quickly, often Guts use whatever tactics he can think of,varying from live bait(like humans)to himself, letting to get impaled just to get to the weaker point of his foe.Probably one of the best dark fantasy mangas...
The Ending does feel like a cliffhanger but the first episode justifies the ending. Its an incredible cyclic anime. WIthout giving too much away the ending is quite depressing and bleak. There are some incredibly difficult scenes to watch. However throughout all of this, Guts survives, which makes the first episode quite poignant and not as bland as it may first appear.
This was a terrible review, listen the anime is shit compared to the manga. You guys are missing out a lot if you think the anime is good. The anime censored a lot of sh*t for good reason. Berserk manga isn't for little b*tches, it's a good read and its ongoing. It has some of the best character developments you will read in a story. I will admit though for non manga readers it would take a bit to get used to and probably reach the point of the story that really hooks you in forever.
@wannabethug7 she never said she was going to review the manga. as you said, both are 2 different things. Plus there is a new remastered anime coming up this year.
do you think there's a pattern to dark fantasy anime getting the boot in the middle, and end leaving us with a bad taste in our mouths, it happened with berserk, it happened with claymore, and it happened with d. gray-man
@IloveOtherPplsMsry What are you talking about? Rarely manga's get on going animes for themselves. 9/10 the animes are just created to promote the manga so they can sell more. If they stop early it leaves the viewers curious to buy the volumes to see what happens next. When they create these animes they are thinking of the Japanese Market not the world. D.Gray-man was real popular but the anime was cut short because the author had health issues. The manga went monthly.
Berserk anime has fillers? Last I recall the anime cut out a really cut out a lot of important plot elements of the first 13 volumes... The anime never explains how Gutts and Casca were saved from Demto and Puck didn't appear, they even changed a lot of stuf like the aftermath of Gutts vs 100 men.
@MrAnimerater I was trying to say how the anime of Berserk is not like most animes that are based off of adventure manga, which tend to included a lot of filler unlike Berserk where the anime removes a lot of important elements.
@ChaosZack08 But they had no choice really, at the time the anime was close to the manga. They ended it in the perfect way to not create any fillers.
And since there is a new project for berserk, I hope they will redo the anime in the same style, with following the manga this time. I mean, Full metal Aclhemist got the same treat so why shouldn't Berserk?
Not really. It's not precognition, I just know myself. I've watched my cousin play Halo and played for about 30 minutes myself and I was just bored. The most fun I had was saying random things in the microphone like "if you want to find Jesus, look behind the sofa."

Having a read the magna ending is very good story telling if the main purpose of the story is to make you read the magna. It's 100% worth reading.

@amyrat151 You are not a gamer and yet you know that you wouldn't play Halo if you were one. Hmm, interesting precognition.
