  • Just bought the Peavey 400 from a neighbor and have a usa strat and just purchased a Zoom g2 , do you have a patch for the tone and settings on the amp. Sounds dirty and bluesy , love it its a ear catcher!!

  • @Doni5717846

Sounds like you've got yourself a great rig, there. Here are the G2.1u settings I used for this video - hopefully they makes sense, but if they don't, let me know -

    Comp 4 fs 68

    ZNR NR 16

    Drive Ed 68 6 80

    EQ 0 -1 4

    Cb DY 1

    Reverb 8 7 46

  • Great tone my friend, cheers from Brazil!

What kind of pedals you use? I got a Blues Driver from BOSS is a good one :D

  • @uploader486

Thanks very much - I'm using a Zoom G2.1u effects unit.

  • The taps were unique in the early three minute area.. Some stronger notes with a little more 'power' would change the approach to the next one?

  • shit man play those blues boss. if i saw you in the street i would have never guess you are such a heavy blues player. nice tone

  • Thanks very much.

  • is this your very own backing track or can i download it somewhere?

  • I can't remember where I got it from now, but it's still sitting on my hard drive - if you send me your e-mail address in a private message to my user account, I'll e-mail it to you.

  • @Kev3542

is there anyway i can do the same? :)

  • @Only1VanillaGorilla

You mean get a copy of the backing track? If you send me your e-mail address in a private message to my user account, I'll e-mail it to you

  • great playing hoss

  • Thanks very much, Little Joe.

  • What amp settings are you using and on what kind of amp? What kind of pickups are those? Also, are you using anything else like pedals, etc.? I'd love to know how you got this tone! Thanks.

  • The sound on this video is recorded using a Zoom G2.1u pedal plugged directly into my laptop - I used Cubase SX3 for the actual recording. The pickups on the guitar are Fender-Lace Sensors - they came as standard on the guitar (a Fender Strat Plus Ultra) when I bought it back in 1991.

  • hey props dude. i play some blues and ill post a reply video. can u tell me what to improve on if i do? ive been playing for like a year ish but ive been playing violin since i was 3 so that helps lol. thanks bro

  • You could always solo over this backing track if you want - if you send me your e-mail address in a private message through my Youtube homepage, I'll be happy to e-mail you an mp3 of it.

  • Damm! That was really good! Great feeling man!

  • I like your way of playin.

  • Holy cow that was fantastic! I'm just curious...how long have you been playing, and how many hours per day/week/month/year do you practice? What a sweet solo.

  • Thanks very much. I've been playing for about thirty years and I normally practice about an hour a day - although when I younger I used to practice much more.

  • do u have a floyd rose tremolo on ur strat?

  • Nah, he's got the Fender American Strat bridge, but I'm not sure if he's got a locking nut or a roller nut or something like that.

  • great playin and sound man

  • Haha, i'm enjoying the fact that about 80% of serious shredders on Youtube look like they've just gotten off their 9-5 job as an accountant. Rock n' roll's in the soul, no flanno's and mullets to be seen here.

  • U ROCK!!!!!

  • Thanks very much...and thanks for subscribing.

  • enorabuena, soy español y me gusta la musica de blues, creo que soy primo de charlie patton o muddy waters o t bone walker, un saludo y algun dia tocaremos juntos

  • Looks like you set the tremolo to floating.

How did you get to improvise so well? What scales or modes did you use?

  • I suppose the best way to learn how to improvise is just to do a lot of it. I don't really think in terms of scales & modes when I play now, although I did study them when I first started playing. This improv is just a blues pentatonic with a few extra notes added in.

  • that sounds so good !! i love it

  • Im subscribing,

This some awesome playing at least!

What amplification and effects are you using?

  • Thanks. The setup here is a 1991 Fender Strat Plus Ultra, a Peavey Stereo 400 amp and a Zoom G2.1u effects box. I bought the shirt from Tesco.

  • Wow! I'm impressed! Keep uploading...

    How long you been playing?

  • Thanks for the compliment...and for subscribing. I've been playing for about thirty years.

  • nice playing! love your work!

    5*****

    best wisher

    jesse

  • how have you customised that strat? i can se ethe diff pick ups, but what else?

  • It's actually a standard 1991 Strat Plus Ultra. The pickups are Lace-Sensors, the tremolo system has the Fender roller nut & locking machine heads.

  • You are the best guitarist on YouTube.

    I love your sound.

    We ALL love you.

What effects box do you use?

    What scale is this?

Is Mr Sheen the best method to clean my guitar?

Where can I buy that shirt?

  • Finally, you're getting the idea.

  • Your brother is a real comedian, isn't he?

  • He's trying...in every possible way.

  • Great job Kev! Loving the rockin' rendition of Stormy Monday. 5/5

  • Good. Real Good.

  • Unique sound,That was real down and dirty.Great harmonics Kev 5* ;)
