Lindelblade , does it take four generations to restore the piano ? !!!
Nice video, excellent !!! how about moisture control before ribbing and before glueing the bridge (I knwo techniques may vary, but I seem to like when the sound board have its own internal contrain.)
Huge complete rebuild job, I appreciate that video , nicely done . Thanks
What is that finish ? hand rubbed ? congratulations to Renner hammers/parts
that's amazing how much they put into that. i really wish i could do something like that. I love the art of music and instruments. It seems like it'd be almost cheaper to buy a new piano
I have a 1900 Gerhard Hientzman Upright Piano that I am currently rebuilding. I have already refinished the cabinet and rebuilt the action, and the keybed and keys. The piano needs a new soundboard. No body in Ontario wants to make a soundboard for me beacuse I already did all the other work. So I am making a soundboard press and I am going to make a soundboard.
This is beautiful!!! I have a Mason & Hamlin A, built in 1969 I think during AEOLIAN's ownership of the company. It is still a beautiful instrument and speaks as if it were a much bigger piano than a 5'9". Mine is going to be rebuilt. I am a tech. and plan to refinish and completely rebuild the piano. (with the exception of a new soundboard)

I have a piano from the 1920's as well that needs total restoration. Was quoted around $9,500 by one local guy many years ago.

A complete restoration seen in this restoration typically costs around $20,000.
