    SIMPLY AMAZING.

  • this looks fun to play

  • I'm infatuated with the instrument-playing of this song. Do you happen to have any tabs for this song man? I'd love to attempt to learn this song over a period of time to further attempt to improve my guitar-playing

  • @raaboosha Yea seriously. I just recently found the other side of death metal that you dont often hear, such as the tonality in a song like Blessed by Decapitation, but anyways, man I would love to cover this song's solos on youtube, if there are any tabs in the world does anyone know where?I can't find any.

  • @raaboosha Go on Ultimate-guitar

  • @raaboosha

watching and listening will help train your ears AND improve over all skill-

tabs are lifeless scratchings on paper- no dimension, just flat-

  • @raaboosha I got tabs bud

  • @raaboosha Learn it by ear, and that improve your playing.

  • Obscura is SICK along with all the other death metal greats buh Nile does have a big influence in the metal genre cuz george kollias is a FUCKING BEAST. Their music is FUCKING good too.

  • THANK YOU

earlbrown33 i cant stress enough to scene kids that deathcore ISNT deathmetal too many people think its the same genre its not and btw imman elitest and i actually think scenecore is FUCKING GAY!!

  • People bitch and moan way too much about music online. Its like religion... worship what you want... just don't show up on my doorstep telling me to forsake all others or suffer the consequences.

Like what you want to like.

For instance... this song is fucking awesome. I happen to like it. If you don't like it, that is your opinion. I personally chose to like this song, and since I am not an elitist, I wish no specific harm on anyone who dislikes this music.

  • Great post

  • i have to admit i use to like deathcore until i discovered technical deathmetal. now i just look at deathcore as any other fad that's "in" for scene kids to get their jolly's of off thinking they're cool. deathcore has become one of the many overrated genres of metal that scene kids are flocking to. people need to stop confusing deathcore with deathmetal because they're to different styles of music.

  • Why the fuck are you idiots commenting about shitty death core when decrepit birth is playing.....

  • Good shit matt

  • dude both akeldma and planetary duality are phenominal albums. they are technical death not deathcore you dumbasses.

  • WHat moron would call the faceless deathcore? Suicide Silence is death core and they are shit.

  • Still it's important not to forsake all deathcore, real deathcore like Whitechapel is pretty badass

  • I kinda hate whitechapel, but i enjoy some carnifex, here comes the kraken, and We are the end (bad ass band).

  • deathcore sucks tits

  • I disagree but MEH

  • We need tabs for this!!!!

  • fucking excelent!!!

  • dude! I NEED tabs for this bad boy

ive been trying to figure it out for time and you are too amazing for my ears

  • crap i read wrong for christ sake.. suicide silence deserve a little less than not bad .

  • oh right suicide silence lol sorry didnt read long enough peace man

  • by SS i really fucking hope you dont mean severed savior

  • The Faceless aren't bad, but they don't even touch Decrepit Birth. Suicide Silence is shit for the most part. Half-assed chromatic riffs with bitch vocals and breakdowns every three seconds.

  • Don't wanna talk smack about DB on the dude's video's for christ's sake, but The Faceless deserve a helluva lot more than 'aren't bad'.

    As for SS, no shit.

  • The Faceless were a lot better before Planetary Duality. Akeldama is sick.

  • i would have to disagree. Its definetely a step in a better direction. Listen to a cynic album and you'll get planetary duality a little more.

  • I listened to Cynic in the womb; everyone thinks they can copy their direction and it's still original.

  • Pfft, what the fuck are you talking about dude. Akeldama was 50% brilliance, 50% deathcore garbage. Planetary Duality was a major step up.

  • Just like Planetary Duality was 50% brilliance and 50% filler? It was a bunch of generic tech death riffs with some slow diminished leads played over them half of the time. If you want some nicely done tech death, I'd recommend Anata's Under A Stone With No Inscription, Arsis's A Celebration Of Guilt, Gorod's Leading Vision, and Nile's Annihilation of the Wicked.

  • Haha, then please show me where Akeldama Excels over P.D., because I'm dying to hear your deranged logic.

Anata's under a stone was relatively generic at best, Primarily filler (which according to you seems to be a serious crime for a band to commit) Arsis' newer album is superior, Nile is Mainstream shite overrated Tech Death, and Gorod's is probably the only Respectable album you mentioned.

Not hearing this "Filler" you speak of, any such 'filler' in PD is easily also present in Akeldama.

  • Arsis's new album is a piece of shit wankfest. James Malone was just masturbating on his guitar. Nile is one of the best in the business. And you want filler? Planet Duality had fucking THREE interludes under 2 minutes.

  • Um, god forbid a band use instrumental passages according to you then, I'm curious as to why the fuck you're listening to semi prog influenced metal to begin with.

Once again, if Nile is supposedly 'the best in the business" then show me how. Just saying that doesn't count for shit.

  • God Forbid blow, regardless of what track spacing they use. Sticking in worthless interludes cheapens the overall integrity of the album, and makes it a waste of cash, to boot. 31.6 minutes is a pathetic length for a 9 track album, BtBaM had six tracks on their newest release and it was still 60 minutes long.

And music is subjective, there's no way I can convince you to like Nile. All I can say is that they are one of the most influential and highly regarded bands in the death metal genre.

  • ...I wasn't talking about the band "God Forbid" you fuckwit, Try reading my comment instead of purposely misinterpreting it just so you can spout of some more bullshit.

    Fucking idiot.

  • I apologize for misreading an irrelevant section of your post. Now maybe instead of throwing around worthless insults, you can actually reply to the meaningful portion of my post. Do you think you can have a civilized discussion or do we have to dumb everything down to Xbox Live-esque maturity?

  • So be it.

I don't see Nile as much of an influence in the DM community as some of the early greats, Atheist, Death, Cynic, Gorguts, Pestilence, Very early Pavor, however as a band on their own, they are relatively good, I just don't see them as nearly influential as other early bands.

As far as the instrumental interludes, I don't see any problem with the interludes if they have a purpose, Shapeshifters and Planetary Duality: 1 both lead into tracks which had some overall worth in the album.

  • I agree with you on the first five bands, although I haven't checked out Pavor (I'll check them out). I don't have a problem with interludes either if they are done in decent moderation and the album is long enough to the point where they aren't a focal point.

What do you think of the band Obscura, by the way? They are heavily Death and Cynic-influenced, so I'm assuming you've heard of them.

  • Yeah, I saw them back in April at some random ass venue in the middle of nowhere, they're pretty damn good to say the least, I didn't like their music a lot at first because they didn't seem to be very heavy on riffs and such in most of their songs, however their lead playing is stellar. Very good musicians.

  • Yeah, his vocals sometimes don't seem to fit the music, but their guitar work is nice (and they brought out the vocoder like The Faceless did on Planetary Duality). The bass is really prominent, it reminds me of the Individual Thought Patterns mixing.

  • Yeah, more DM bands should have Fretless bass players.

  • or like cynic did. i fucking hate that the faceless does that shit

  • yeah, the faceless didn't utilize it properly...doesn't sound anywhere near as good.

  • @XxSconeManxX Akeldama is a good example of what deathcore should be in my opinion. most of it sucks but if it all sounded like that i would be a huge deathcore fan.

  • @metalfun111

As much as I'd like to agree with you there, as I've listened more and more to Akeldama, the songs on the album that DO impress me sound quite a bit like Tech/Prog DM more than anything else, All Dark Graves, Leica, and Ghost of a Stranger are really the only songs off the album IMO that are (mostly) dominated by Deathcore esque playing, not to say that An Autopsy, Pestilence, and Horizon pt. 2 don't all have their fair share of hardcore influenced sounds.

  • @XxSconeManxX that may be why i like that album so much lol

  • @XxSconeManxX Agreed!

  • @XxSconeManxX akeldama kicks major ass. so does planetary. classic and genre defining albums, both of them.

  • @GoodOldDeathMetal

I wouldn't go as far as to say genre defining, but I still stand by my original statements about Planetary Duality being at least somewhat superior to Akeldama.

  • @XxSconeManxX Your completely right

  • @XxSconeManxX oh shit..im glad i wasnt teh only one who thought that...all that deathcore garbage ruined that album

  • @FinnMetal4Life

I hate to constantly be playing devil's advocate with seemingly everyone who responds to my comments, but I think (or at least now I do, maybe not before) Akeldama as a whole album is pretty damn good, I just think that Planetary Duality is superior in a variety of different ways, one being that the breakdowns aren't so ridiculously trudging and slow, and that they actually fit in with the songs better.

  • @XxSconeManxX It's definitely a tolerable album i just hate breakdowns/deathcore in general...unless its a real death metal breakdown like suffocation or bloodbath.. all that good shit.

  • @XxSconeManxX your right to the fuckint T

  • @XxSconeManxX That 50% of brilliance was Lord Marco...

  • @proguitargamer Are you insinuating Lord Marco played drums on Akeldama...? The drummers that played on it were Nick Pierce, Andy Taylor, Brent Batdorf, and Navene Koperwies.

  • @Steve128967 No, just seeing them live with him just made it sounds amazing. Lyle Cooper is doing a damn good job.

  • @proguitargamer Alright then, doesn't make much sense to me but whatever floats your boat.

  • @XxSconeManxX

I hate to play devil's advocate here, because in most part I agree with you, but I think one could also say that PD was somewhat derivative from greater tech death metal bands before them.

  • @XxSconeManxX Planetary Duality sucked compared to Akeldama. All Drak Graves is their best song.

  • @sarah21830

Hurr durr moar, if you're going to post something, at least give me a reason why I should respond to you, instead of some retarded unsubstantiated opinionated bullshit.

By the way, if you hadn't noticed, this video hasn't got shit to do with The Faceless to begin with, so I don't know why you even bothered responding to me in the first place.

All Dark Graves is an absolutely elementary demonstration of what The Faceless is musically/technically capable of, to say the least.

  • fucking sweet dude. this band has the most amazing solos ever.

  • Is the single-coil neck pickup being used for the solos?

  • how are people going to say The Faceless are talentless when they have some of the most creative riffs in deathmetal. go rip on garbage like suicide silence not bands that are helping progress deathmetal.

  • i can agree with you there the faceless are amazing but to say suicide silence is garbage i don't know i mean it seems like there becoming a trend but they are fucking brutal but as far as i go i'll only listen to a band if the sound good fuck trends and popularity the faceless are amazing though man

  • how could you not hear the death influence

    great band

  • man you're so good!!!

  • Jackson DK2S Dinky Pro?

  • check out my SS09 video i got to meet Matt at the very end of the show and got my copy of DBW signed YEEEAH!! THEY ARE AMAZING!

  • these guys put on such a good live performance !

  • The Faceless=Decrepit Birth worship

    Decrepit Birth shits on them.

  • This made my fucking day.

  • Matt is so crazy fast no one out there can really match him no matter how technical they are they are just mediocre but no anywhere near capable of doing all the stuff he does all inspired by DEATH

  • Comment removed

  • I saw them live at the Summer Slaughter, why did they have such a short time slot!? They're so much more amazing than Darkest Hour, Winds of Plague, and that other hardcore band they put on the tour. They only got to play like 4 songs but they were crazy!

  • probally my favorite series of solos in recent time
