  • very well done video and i love the song.i once had copies of 1931 lotr, but my mother destroyed them in a fit of anger, and i now have modern copies, but i do miss the originals, and i am glad they did such a good job on the movie series.i think tolkien would be pleased.youve done a great job,

  • @swanderer01 Man that really sucks your originals got destroyed! I'm very sorry to hear that :/ I myself would LOVE a copy of such originals...however, I do thank you for your compliments :) Nothing too fancy but I do love watching this video bring back LOTR fans and start discussions about their personal interests in LOTR :) I'm glad you enjoyed this!

And you're right, Tolkien would be darn proud and pleased if he was alive today...if only he was...

  • @swanderer01 your mom is a bitch bro that really sucks

  • Hey, I'm gonna be singing this song for a solo and I was wondering if I could use this as my background/accompaniment track? If not that's all right, I understand completely.

  • @KittygirlMoonflight That's alright with me! Go for it :)

  • @rockeyj9 Yes! Thank you very much!

  • @KittygirlMoonflight You're very welcome :) I'm glad to be of some inspiration!

  • There are 5 orcs!!!

  • 5 people have bad tastes ;) (dislikes bar)

  • is there no way to find that epic tune that goes "dum..... dum..... dum..... dum dum dum, dum dum dum, dum dum dum, dum.. dum.. dum.." Im sure some of you know what im talking about.. it plays during epic lotr moments, ye ti cant find it anywhere. WHATS IT CALLED??

  • 3:40 to 4:00 my favorite part!

  • every time I hear this song it makes me teary eyed T^T

  • @kaliebug2002 Indeed, it's incredibly emotional! The thought of some of them sailing off to the Undying Lands...makes you shed some tears to think of the end of an epic quest..

  • Just tell me one reason to not love LOTR?:)

  • @pedropcv6 I have not one reason to not love it ^_^

  • @pedropcv6

There is no reason to not like / love LOTR (the books), but the movie...? Wow, where to begin, they completely changed The Two Towers and Return of the King. And not just for appearance's sake, but in a fundamental way. Still very awesome movies though.

  • @arkangelik Very true :P I don't like it when movie companies change or shorten the stories, but sometimes they still turn out pretty good :) As for myself, I saw all the movies before I ever touched the books, so to me they were always awesome except the fact I wish they had included some more in-depth content (which they attempted to do with the extended editions?)

  • @arkangelik well, what you wrote makes sense, but more for other movies that were based on books, but even if some things have changed all that matters is that Peter Jackson could get the magic of books and put it in three films, creating something very epic (the most epic)!

    Greetings;)

  • 0:40

    best....<3 Legolas

    xD

  • The ending of LOTR is very sad how the cast never see's each other but often....it took them VERY long 2 make these movies. they were like family!! i mean i beat it was hard 2 say good bye! it always is. one of my 2 best friends moved 2 California.....to me i felt like it was LOTR. never well see them again..........i mean its sad! i know this is long im sorry :) but i loved these movies! there so good and sad :( i love the book how sam gose to the un dieing lands after his wife dies.

  • 5 people haven't had anything but maggoty bread for 3 stinking days

your music surely captures the passion of LOTR, keep up the good work!

  • @LoneCarbineer AMEN!! And why thank you, I do certainly love this EPIC series ^_^

  • Is there a more moving and heart-wrenching song in all of Western Civilization? I don't think so.

  • LOTR music is really good. I never actually took much notice of it in the movies but im lovin it.

  • @Damage20X I know right?! I bought a few of the songs of the soundtrack, they're quite amazing :)

  • brilliant... just watched the movie...and you are very gifted x

  • thank you for uploading this. ive been looking for this version of the song for days. thank you !! :D

  • thank u for uploading this. been looking for orchestral/instrumental version of this song for DAYS. thank you!!

  • I love this film so much! One of the greatest films ever done! and the music just fits in perfect,

  • oh this is just awesome, very talented

  • God i love that film ! :)

  • such a beautiful song :) does anyone know the instruments used for it?

  • @hugges17 I am not quite sure, but I play the cello and it sounds a lot like the cello. So I am pretty sure that is what it is. I really want to play it!

  • great job rockeyj9 the sound track is great and goes well with the video.

  • the best movie ever

  • Love the pics and the version of Into the West. Went to the Albert Hall, London last month to see the Royal Philharmonic play the ROTK score live to the film. Absolutely amazing. When this was played/sung at the end I had hairs standing up on the back of my neck. Then Howard Shore came on stage to great applause. We queued for an hour afterwards to meet him and get an autograph. Brilliant night.

  • @ xenojaker -- Gandalf is not an angel (or even comparable.) He's a wizard charged with guiding mankind into their future as well as offering support. He was sent back after the Balrog fight because the upper wizards said he was not done with his task that was appointed to him. Gandalf is called many things; Mithrandir, Greyhame, Stormcrow, Olórin, Incánus, Tharkûn, Grey/White Pilgrim, and Grey/White Wizard.

  • Nicely Done. Shore's version is too unfeeling/sparse for my tastes. Have a look at my Into the West video when you have a moment.

  • Your images are wonderful. This song so kind. It calms one's insane fear of death and puts it right. It is but another journey. Everyone's ship is waiting...

to slip gently "into the west".

  • 5 people don't know good instrumental talent when they hear it.

  • can't wait for the HOBBIT!!!!!!!!

  • i dont think gandalf was there to just wipe out enemies he was there to lead the way, and keep an eye on the ring if you ask me. (that is what i think, personly )

  • @TheIfifi Neither did I say that was all he did ;) I just gave one good reason as to why each character played an important role. He did however, he cleaned a LOT of clocks!

  • @TheIfifi yeah you are basically right, he is comparable to a lesser angel sent to watch over and provide guidance...all the wizards were. that's why he can come back from death after fighting the bolrog in moria, he gets "sent back". Gandalf was just a name people gave to him, but his true name from before the world began was Olorin. That's also why it takes him half a second to remember that his name is Gandalf when they meet him in the forest.

  • @TheIfifi i agree everyone had their part, its a movie about good vs evil, and useing team work/human spirit to do it...if u put a house togather one nail just doesnt cut it :)

  • @TheIfifi Gandalf and his Order were sent to Middle-Earth to ensure the destruction of Sauron, but not use their powers directly to influence the peoples of Middle-Earth. Saruman is the only one to have ignored that command.

The Wizards were to provide council and guidance.

  • whats the soundtrack they play when showing somthing evil

    it goes kinda like

da da da dum dum dum

but i cant remember the name

  • @TheKalusha "The bridge of khazad dum" ?

  • Seriously, why does Frodo get all the credit for destroying the ring? Without Sam, he would never have been able to do it. Even Smeagol 'helped' a little in the end. just think it's unfair to the other characters. I personally think that Gandalf and Aragorn played the most significant roles in the series.

  • @Asrathiel98 It's difficult, because all the characters depended on each other in the end. Frodo needed lots of help cause' he was under the insane powers of the ring, Gandalf helped wipe out a ton of enemies and saved a lot of butts, Aragorn knew lots of ways to get around enemy line/plan battles, Legolas had his all seeing eye and could spot armies from miles off, and Sam was his best friend who was there to help him through some of the hardest turmoil.

  • @rockeyj9 Frodo had to bear the temptation of the ring, as none of the others did, and if any of the others bore the ring, they too would feel it's effects and need help from the team as well. So Frodo is considered the 'main' hero because even though they all depended on eachother, Frodo carried the most weight and pulled through when there were many times he almost gave up.

  • @Asrathiel98 - that's why Tolkien is the greatest writer ever, no matter what character you like, each one of them could actually be considered a hero, even Gollum, without Gollum in the end, Frodo would've taken the ring, and god knows what would've happened.. and yes, without Sam, Frodo would never have reached Mount Doom, and without Frodo, there wouldn't been much of a story..

  • @DemiathDoomhammer Yes! PERFECT! You gave the absolute correct answer to this matter of talk! They ALL have something about them that makes them a hero, so none of us are right to say any one of them was :) THANK YOU :D This comment shall be remembered.

  • Hahahaha 3:16 Pippin and Merry they look like Einstein with their hair up like that

  • I believe that it's actually a cello. :)

  • i love Into the West. what a wonderful way to conclude one of the greatest epic fantasies of our time.

  • step one learn how to type you text leper.

    step two email best buy.

  • Yes, they are making two more, but it's just The Hobbit part 1 and The Hobbit part 2. It's a ploy to make more money off of them. Kind of like The Deathly Hallows. Comparitively, TDH was no bigger book than Goblet. They're splitting it in two to make money. Just like the Hobbit.

  • yeah, but every word in TDH is exciting and important, in the order of Phoenix, for example, JKRowling goes writing things that may not matter alot to the story..

anyway, the Hobbit is way better and nicer to read than the lord of the rings trilogy..

the films are great, but the books not so much

  • @yourmom666 actually, the longest book of harry potter is the order of the phonix. And ibviously that they split it in 2 for make more money. But think that there will be more movies....

  • you can sum1 show me how to make a picture video liek this? just liek a bunch of random pictures from my computer and i wunna play a song as they scroll by.. sum1 please msg me or w/e u can do on youtube and lemme know how plz ^^

  • WOW! I Wish I could do that!

  • you did a good job i looved it now i want to go watch the movie again

  • Thank you much! im glad you enjoyed it =)

  • I saw all the three parts in 2 days and it was great, i think it's the best movie i've seen and i love the music

  • my mom lend me the book one´s and I started reading. I gave up and was like this book suck! I´m never gonna read this book again and I hate everythign related to lord of the rings!(you´ll have to excuse my harsh judgement) and then I saw the movie, and I was like oh my god this story is amazing! so now I´m back reading and I´m really into it...don´t judge from the cover :D

  • It's tough to get into the books. but if you can force yourself to really work into the story and let it grab you, you'll become so immersed in the world it's amazing. It's one of the greatest stories I've ever read and the book is even better than the movie. If you enjoy it you should also check out "The Hobbit" by the same author. It's amazing as well.... and it gives some background to the Lord of the Rings characters which is awesome...

  • Also check out Children of Hurin and all the other books based in The Lord of the Rings universe. They are all great, too bad I haven't read any :(

  • This is great! I love it!

  • thanks! =)

  • Thanks Rockeyj9,... I was ticked when they took the original away... but this one is a nice replacement. Thankyou.

  • Love this song and the video was great:)

    lotr fan:)

  • at the end of the return of the king galadriel says that sam was a ring bearer for a short time, does that mean sam will get to go some time?

  • In the Appendices to the book, Tolkien says that Sam goes into the West after Rosie's death. The thought of his eventual reunion with Frodo is the only thing that got me through the ending of "Return of the King."

  • Next time can ya get someone actually vocalizing?

  • You mean in the song or add a video clip?

  • well i think he means, with the girl actually singing with it-Annie Lennox

  • I see what you mean. Well, no. Not for this video because the instruments alone deliver a feeling that would be lost if there were vocals. It may sound weird, and it's hard to explain, you know? Something about all instruments that just seems better in many ways.

  • this is the saddest song ever... i don't really know why, but its so moving....the LotR movies are the best.... and the ending is SO sad.... i just start crying violently and my heart aches.... cause the friends will NEVER see each other again.... it was the LAST ship to ever leave Middle Earth.... and they willl NEVER return...

  • And yet... There is hope. For Frodo, the war is finally over. Sam is happily married with his own family. Pippen and Merry become great among their people. And They all have the ear and friendship of THE KING!
