I like how they managed to stay pretty close to the original version, even with the sound chip of the Gameboy Advance not being as powerful as the SNES one.
The only thing bad about the advance series is those voice clips. I cant stand them. They are repetitive and annoying. Like i really need to hear "HOO HOO, JUST WHAT I NEEDED!!!!' every 5 seconds, -_-
In my mind, this title has completely replaced my childhood memories of Super Mario World on the SNES. Don't get me wrong, I had fun with this game when I was a kid, but playing it on the GameBoy Advance with all of the fun little touch-ups not only adding to, but improving the nostalgia factor of the fun I had with this game, there's no way I can go back to a level 1 theme without the sound at 0:22, the medley remix at 0:33, or Mario screaming "Mama mia!" as he dies. This is true gaming.
its a horse apice. the music in the snes one is way crisper and clear. and the gba version is too easy. but its hard at the same time trying to play in a little dimly lit screen. i personally prefer the whole snes one cause i played it til 4th grade when mom threw my snes away for having shitty grades. then i had the gba version. now i grew up and dont play games and this is all nostalgic to me. so idk
You just walk casually through the level on Yoshi's back until...DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DUM!!!! And then the music speeds up as Mario and Yoshi rush to the end killing every Goomba, Koopa and Hammer Bro in the way
Some people think this is same as snes version and it's not!
In my opinion, this version seems easier. Probably 'cus gba was targeted for kids too. Just to make it less frustrating for the little guys.......unless they can handle the snes one. The gba couldve been made just to be portable......uuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmm...
Only Link To The Past, Yoshi's Island and Rock and Roll Racing ports sounds extremly close to thier SNES Versions. This game the music is way to high pitched throught out the game athough it uses the same instruments as SNES..
me and my friend found a ds lying in the street with this game in the gba slot and some game called touch master in the ds slot and he took the mario game and sold it but i wanted to keep it lol
but you need to go back and look at the masterpiece on the snes. because playing with that snes controller gives you the 'classic' feeling. I'm not interfering with your opinion or anything.
When I bought my Game Boy Advance SP this was my first GBA that I got but later on I got the SNES version. I don't know why but I like the GBA version of the overworld theme 1 better than the SNES version. The thing I liked about the GBA version was the only way to unlock the true ending of the game was to collect all the Yoshi coins in every level. The SNES and the GBA versions are a little bit different.
Still have my SNES!

Does anyone know how to get to the remix of this? The remix sounds exactly like this, only it has rock and roll elements to it.

probably because it requires much consuming power with the GBA's music. Underground theme in SMB2 GBA version is absolutely the worst.
at 0:23 there's a sound effect, almost like something's been selected on the pause screen, LOL
PahangDragonbird 2 years ago
What do you mean underground SMB2 GBA is the worst??!! On the contrary, it is the BEST! So Phooey!!
FireCheepCheep 1 year ago

The underworld theme in GBA version was HORRIBLE, no bass xylophone part.
