Venus is so amazing when she plays well...her serve is so lethal when its consistent. I really really wish she played like this more often. Thats the difference between Serena and Venus...Serena's game is consistent and Venus is not. She would have just as many wins and slams as Serena if she did. I love both of these girls....tennis is dead without them. I hope to see the win many more tournaments. I hope Venus can pull it together her last few years of tennis left.

@Blakmajik78 completely and utterly agree!! i actually think when she is on it- Venus is better than Serena. But as you say Serena has been able to raise the bar more consistently than venus. But honestly when both are at their best- i think venus is far better. Her back hand and serve is truly devestating!

Venus always look graceful when she won lovely to see her win and play well, Serena in the other hand look absolutely unappreciated whatsoever to her sister win

I love how their names are "Serena" and "Venus" up there in the score box. It was sad to see Serena start so well and then drop off. But usually when Serena starts this well no one can hang with her and she doesn't have to work as hard..only problem..Venus hung with her.

It is strange to think that Venus Williams has not won a Grand Slam since Wimbledon 2008, she could have a good chance to win the US Open as Venus and Serena could meet in the Semi Final. If Venus does not win the US Open then I know that she will go on an all out assualt on the one Grand Slam she said she wants to win and that will be the Australian Open 2010.

Venus said in an interview after Stanford that she wants the Australian Open so badly.

watching this leaves me with good an bad feelings ....good is, i do think this is venus' 2nd best grand slam victory, for one it was against the toughest opponent being her sister an the calm she showed in this match not getting tight or nervous playing from behind in both sets an showing just how good she is to beat serena williams in straight sets in a grand slam final // bad is, that she was unable to defend it for a 3rd straight year an this is twice now serena has stopped her 3-peat :(

Venus has been my favorite female player ever since she wore those damn beads ... she isn't always consistent but I think she's the most enjoyable to watch ... her long limbs create finess and her racquet preparation is perfect, especially on her backhand wing. Venus rules Wimbledon and I hope to see her do it again 2009!
