  • Not a lot of bikejoring going on is there? In fact, none at all !

  • Ya you do not want to start your puppy pulling yet. His skeleton is still growing, and you dont want to damage it by him pulling just yet. But get him used to an X-back harness they are called.

  • Where would you look to buy the dog harness you use for this; what do you call that type of harness, maybe I can find it online? My Malamute puppy Timber is just five months old, and I want to teach him to pull. (smile)

This is a wonderful video, and your dogs are just outstanding! Thank you so much for posting this video!

  • Those in the video are from Russia and Poland.

    Our last ones come from:

    affordabledogsleds(dot)com/harnesses(dot)htm

Please do not put load on the puppy until he is at least 1 year old. For now he can pull something light just to get use to pulling. Plus if you buy a harness now, he will out grow it by 1 year of age.

In one months time there will be new videos, as sleddog(dot)lv will be having a competition soon!

  • Thank you so much; I saved the web sight! (smile)

  • @wiskawind The harness is called an "x-back", the other looks like a "shorty".

I bought mine online at canadog along with a sledding lead. Great company.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! When the weather cools a bit, I'm going to begin bikejoring with my now, three German Shorthaired Pointers! I'll start teaching them "gee" and "Haw" tomorrow! Thanks so much for your help - I can't wait to start :)

  • reallygreat vid! ive got a young sibe and i really want him to competete in racesand such i was wondering u train the lead dog to go left or right or stop on your command?

is it easy or are there actual training guidelines?

  • 2nd part: And if needed, pull the leash a bit so that the dog would understand that you are turning. No mixing, you train the left or the right turn at the time. Will take some 1-2 weeks so that the dog would learn the turns.

  • 1st part: Take your dog on a small leash. Make him walk along your left side. Now in every 2nd step you will turn left or right for some 30-50 times, and will repeat the command:

"gee" (turn right) and "haw" (turn left)

  • @eldberg IT WORKS TOO IF YOU SAY LEFT RIGHT SLOW STOP GO!!!!!!!

    MY FIRST COME FOR HUNGARY

    MY SECOND FROM FRANCE

    MY THIRD FROM SWISS

I4M FRENCH so i learned orders to my huskies in french.

when they run at 30 mph in bike joring, try to say them "gee".... it would be a little bit dangerous !!!!

speak your languaga bro, it s much easier for you, indeed for your partners (dogs).

  • @christ581 sorry, i meant 30 KMH That makes 20mph i think (not sure)

  • i wondered if you could help me, im looking to get into Bikejoring and i wondered where i could find a training place
