A filter may not help

It looks like a reflection a CCD sensor produces

If you get a camera with a newer CMOS sensor you won't get these reflections

@Sufibooks, i see. well, this was taken with Canon G9. I dont have any such issues with Nikon D5000- certainly way more advanced than Canon G9. but D5000 nly has time lapse photography feature, while this was time lapse video. so hope to find better option for the latter. thanks for the info though- i'll certainly check for it.
