  • is that chrono trigger playing in the background 6:19

  • A dramatic improvement.

  • Turned an awful anime into a fucking hilarious masterpiece. Congratulations XD

  • aww, people are so mean to this anime. It wasn't THAT bad. geez...

  • @sweetsoulsista

Oh it was pretty bad. I forgive it though because it had aspirations of greatness. It attempts, however ineptly with inadequate budget and overabundance of campy dialogue, to tell a grand space operatic tale, which is why it is at least endearing, if not actually good.

  • @Unwardil I agree. Although I hate to admit it, this anime didn't have much originality but for me it was still refreshingly different from all the other recycled plots I'm seeing in anime these days....

  • @sweetsoulsista I agree. Sure the animation isn't the greatest in the world, hell it's Gonzo so they suck most of the time, but the anime has a badass storyline. I'm still in the beginning of the series, but it's starting to get addicting XD

  • @sparklechild7689 I'm glad someone thinks the same way. I was beginning to think I have really bad taste. lawlz.

Glass Fleet really is addictive all the way through.

  • 4:15 - 4:22 "And thus our galaxy was in Dog's image made: A giant bitch forever eating its own shit."

  • "Why the hell not! Why the hell not! Why the hell not!?"

  • argh big words... long.... my head hurts :P

  • IT'S THE HOMEWORLD 2 BATTLE MUSIC!!!!!!!!! ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITIST GAMES EVER!!!!

  • Ooh can I have hat chrono rigger remix?

  • Natzi's!!!

  • If feces is egested and not excreted, would it still be referred to as excrement?

  • I honestly liked the Anime better. This just overuses big words and it lost my attention less than halfway through. Sorry but this is just too much.

  • "I love the smell of bloodshed in the morning! 8D" "Really, sir? I would have said butter." I'll just be going to watch this series now. xD

  • 23,000 viewer right on the dot, epic. I just watched the official dub of this, and I say this. Unwardil, you're voices are much more suitable to each character. You need to get into professional voice acting man.

  • I just finished watching the original (which by the way I would never have seen if I hadn't seen the abridged) and I enjoyed it,

except for the ending, which is very lack luster =/

But I can't wait till you get to abridging it =P

  • LMAO well done really well done.

  • is this for real?

  • I actually liked Glass Fleet, but I admit I've seen WAY better anime. The ending of the series was just plain WTF though.

  • wtf!! hahahahaHA

  • "5 score years ago" isnt that 100 years?

  • @pyroXblade

It makes more sense if you think of it as a reference to the speech that Martin Luther King Jr gave infront of the Lincoln memorial. As to the actual number, yeah I think it's 100. That does mean that he's not making a lot of sense.

  • what music is that that starts at 5:50?

  • @ustRN2004 It's the theme from Chrono Trigger.

  • It's been a long time since I've checked out your videos unwardil. I was laughing just 4 seconds in..... Wow you couldn't have tried for 3? Jk, good job man.

  • "who?"... classic... oh, and my Buddha that was the largest mustache I have even SEen... oh wait, hold the phone; 2nd largest; in Black Cat there were these guys that walked and attacked people with their mustaches; perhaps they were from the Mustachia Territory?

  • This actually took, creativity. Good job!

  • lol, You managed to make solid gold from a shit anime. Your my hero XD

  • by the power of dog

  • I feel you should know that when you type in "Glass Fleet" in the search box the first thing that pops up is Glass Fleet Abridged... therefore you are, in a way, more popular that the original series, and I find that hilarious.

  • hurray for fanatical idealism xD

  • Nautical miles are technically three dimensional units. They change with the altitude over the Earth's surface making a nautical mile for a boat shorter than a nautical mile for a plane. It's based on the angular displacement around the Earth's circumference and is equivalent to one minute or one sixtieth of a degree. Though it is still an utterly absurd unit of measurement without a radial point of reference. But what do I know?

  • I wish someone should make this quote:

"There is no god in this world."

  • it's funny how this is just like the actual anime, but more interesting

  • Smartest thing in the whole episode: "Do what I mean, not what I say!" Seriously, is there some kind of "Impose Logic on Anime Alliance" here on Youtube, and if there is, WHY AREN'T THEY STORMING THE HEADQUARTERS OF GAINAX?!

  • Well, I can forgive a lot in the name of good story telling... So understand on an asthetic why they can breath in space, because if they had to get into space suits all that time it wouldn't feel like the french revolution in space and if it wasn't happening on giant floating space platforms, all the background scenery would have to be something far more mundane...

But even so, the word Altitude has absolutely no relevance when navigating in three unlimited directions.

  • lol, the person adamwestslapdog played the voice of who's clearly not just a character that will only be used in one episode got promoted for stating how easily some of the ships couldn't possibly get away.

  • check out the San Ku Kaï serie or music hahaha it's a Starwars/PowerRangers/DragonBall Z real serie !

  • I love this series, And nice abridged so far.

  • wow

so many uhh big words in uhhh sophisticated sentances . my brain hurts*-*

  • @noobs0me100 it's war and politics. Just smile and worship the cute puppy! :D

  • Oh my god.

    OH MY GOD.

I AM SO GLAD someone abridged this series, because it is quite possible the WORST anime I have ever seen.

  • Weeeeeell

I'm not going to sit here and pretend that Glass Fleet is anything more than a pretty narmy space opera but I'll just say that if it's the worst anime has ever thrown at you consider yourself inordinately fortunate.

  • @Unwardil

    Agreed!

  • @FullMoonBunny I have never seen this anime, but i highly doubt that i need to in order to get why it's so terrible

  • That's a chick, right?

    Right?

  • Homeworld soundtrack for the win!

  • Check out the View at 2:49! Is he giving his speech in Washington DC?!

  • Well done sir. I was wondering when someone was going to spot that. That was what inspired that whole scene.

  • cutzy :D

  • Good lord this is pretentious... You can take that as a compliment if you'd like.

  • If you'd seen the original, you'd understand why.

'Legend of "The Wind" of the universe'

  • I saw the original lol. Though they explain the shitty science later on, somewhat.

  • Well, sure, for a given value of explination. They never explain why people can both breath in space and... not... breath in space as the plot demands. Or why people can actually walk on those space collonies without floating off into space. Granted, it never really asks you to believe any of it is really based on reality so, I forgive it that, but it makes for fun parody.

  • lol. yeah. I'd presume the graviy and air is from the technology that floods the area around the colony with air in some sort of field. Given later-on the ships don't go too far, it's not too much of a stretch =/

But that breathing in space and NOT breathing really ticked me off. I agree. I guess I adapted to the shitty science :p

  • Yup. Like all space opera, the only real solution is to simply pretend it's not a problem.

I've got my own explination for it though which I'm not going to spoil here, but I will say it borrows heavilly from concepts invented by Douglas Adams.

  • XD "God i hate exposistions!!" "This was so avoidable!" LOLZ

  • I really hate this anime, but this parody is hilarious and extremely well planned...great job

  • CHRONO TRIGGER MUSIC FTW

  • you could probably have a field day with galaxy railroads. Combat trains in SPACE!

    It's on Hulu

  • I can;t hear what he Vetti is saying clearly in his speech. Still funny though.

  • Oh, you didn't miss much, he's Just juxtopositionally paraphrasing Martin Luther King Junior's I have a dream speach, that's all.

  • Ah. I see. So he's basically the evil version. nice. .

  • the hairy thigh lady sounds like triple dyke

  • I also recognized Licncoln's speeches.

  • congrats on the promotion adamwestslapdog

  • They gave adamwestlapdog a captains seat?

    Wow!

  • thank you for mention the lack of explosive decompresion. i like the show, but everytime they flew out into space i start questioning sanity. also, this is one of the better abridged series i've seen in a way.

  • its not a 3 dimensional enviroment space is a 4 dimensional enviroment

  • 13 if you believe the wheelchair guy.

  • not on your life

  • That only applies if you need to pay attention to proper navigation through time: that being if you're BlackBelt from 8-bit theatre or Doctor Who.

  • good job

  • is there full episodes ilike to see this anime and thanx

  • Yup, link to episode 1 of the original is in the description.

  • Wow, good stuff. All the high brow jokes will allow us to thumb our noses at the Yu Gi Oh Abridged fans.

  • Yeah...

Well, the less said about the second episode the better then...

  • yes, it was VERY avoidable

  • Question; If they don't decompress in space, then could you theoretically hear them scream?

Keep up the great work as allways

  • Yeah, you would think that, but sometimes, they do actually decompress. I'm working under the assuption that when you get close enough to a black hole, the laws of causality become somewhat elastic.

  • Ah, I see. Curved nature of space-time and all that

  • Is this for real! If so, then I will would say the best dubbing was that of Animax. They sound like my 3-year old brother reading a Shakespeare (Did I spell the name right?) book .

  • This, like all your other videos is a testament to the incredible writing and timing of Unwardil who has an ability to write in incredibly complicated political satire and imagery all the while spicing it with historical allusion and often significant levels of self depreciating humor.

Having Cassius614 only solidifies these traits as she seems to have a very similar style of writing and humor (similar, but still different.)

  • lookz very interestin..cant wait to watch this anime :3!!!!

  • Not bad not bad at all.

  • ...Well damn, I suppose I have to watch Glass Fleet now, won't I?

  • Excellent pilot. Never cared much for the word 'impenetrable'. Sound a bit too much like 'unsinkable'.

  • wait that opening from ROV

  • Epic win, Unwardil, epic win! ^__^

  • Unwardil has the incredible ability to make me watch an abridged series based on an anime i would never, EVER watch under normal circumstances. Well, I do own the Last Exile box set, but I've never watched it and am pretty sure i swiped it from Best Buy after losing a one man drinking contest.

    Twice.

  • I dont watch obscured anime that probs hasnt even got an english dub or worse shown on TV. Thtas what Lani is doing with outside the otaku with watching anime you gotta look for

  • Hay Unwardil, are you going to use Alex Rowe's voice for Creo?

  • Cleo's voice will be my imitation of Travis Willingham (The voice of Roy Mustang and of course, Cleo/Creo in the Funimation dub).

It will probably end up sounding a lot like Alex only with more emotional varriation rather than a sliding scale of annoyance against the writer.

Actually, comparing to other Last Exile voices, I imagine he will end up sounding most like Vincent, only, without the character assassination.

  • Ah, I see lol can't wait...well actually I can I have a 18pg paper due friday lol :)

    anyway ty for replying!

  • I got to the very end and i was wondering who had make this visual audio master piece (because i was to lazy/stupid to check before watching) so i look over and that was when i went holy @#$% @#$% on a #$%^ with #$#% on a @#$% sandwich this was by Unwardil. so ya great show love it hope you continue it.

  • Another great work by are great and terrible master Unwardil

  • vive la resistance!

was that seriously unwardil's first south park reference? or were the others hidden beneath dozens of layers of speech XD

  • GOD = DOG

    and cowboy bebop made fancy

    lol

this series starts w/ a "G" am i to assume you worked on this for hbi2k's contest but never made it in time?

  • Great job, Unwardil. I was in the mood for some intelligent humor

  • i fear the newspaper

  • I saw the first episode and I see why you abridging this... So many thing

    Great!

  • how to escape a evil space empire

i got it hyjack a ship fly farther out

  • Nicely done. I can't wait to see more. Though now I am torn. To choose between the belief of which is based upon a lame goat or an all powerful dog that has eaten it's own waste.

  • Well, I have to say, the Black Cross Dog has the superior theme song.

  • Unwardil + Flying Ships = Abridged Series?

    Fantastic! Cut and print, everyone!

[This is a JOKE, for those of you who can't tell. Yes, I know not ALL of his abridged series videos are about anime [animes? Animi?] with flying ships.]

  • I agree. Lailainai, since you asked, anime, like all Japanese words, is the same both singular and plural.

  • ...waiting for Michel to chase the shota Nowry... ^_^;

  • Oh lord...

    References, HO!

    I love it.

  • Homeworld soundtrack! Awesome.

  • is cassius' character a man or a woman

  • The ambiguousness of that is intentional.

  • I don't know if this is a spoiler or not so think before reading the rest, but I read a review of this series in a magzine once saying that character was a woman pretending to be a man.

  • cant wait for the next one!!

  • Dammit.

I spend hours trying to find good sound effects...

You make your own, and it makes this so damn entertaining. I can't help but hate and admire you.

  • lol this episode is full of win. Can't wait until the next one.

  • Unwardil is at it again XD

  • God I could never come up with any of these high-brow jokes. Hey Unwardil, do you go to some sorta Ivy League school or something?

  • Nope. He's just a very, very, very, very, very brainy drop-out (rather with him it was more "fuck it, I don't have to finish this, I'm a musician........and smarter than 99.9999999999999993486% of the people I know").

  • Ah ha! Your higher level intellectual humor always cracks me up. Bravo.

  • Time for more big words is now! =D

  • Butter is a spice?

    Freakin' Canadians...

    P.S. Fantastic. Just fantastic. :D

  • Oh yeah, Triple-dike is a character. Hooray!

  • She was the clinching factor in the 'Alright, this series is just fated for me.'

  • I've actually been to a wedding very similar to that one

very nice episode professor...and even though your probably getting sick of hearing this VERY nice choice of music

  • ok, im just gonna assume this whole series is based off of 1 scientific plot hole after another. either way, great episode and poor adamwestlapdog. atleast he went out in a blaze of glory though i guess it will be forgotten by episode 2.

  • Gotta love the sound effects, not even a billion dollar movie comes close to their state-of-the-art awesomeness :D

  • well that was quick. turned out good, as always

  • Chock full of sheer comical genius! 1:31-1:35 made my jaw drop! 5:02-5:34 had me in stitches!

And I love the episode's soundtrack! I am a lover of classical music. You made fantastic choices!

Such a great episode! I really look forward to the next episode!

  • Nice start, I sure didn't expect you to post an episode so soon after meerly mentioning you were doing the series the other day.

Either you work fast or you had this already rolling when you mentioned it... or both.

Looking forward to the next episode.

  • So...is there...air...or what?

  • Awsome! Another series with ships..., and impossible steam punk, err... space punk... technology. Your love of lampooning the aristocracy is epic man.

  • Another job well done Unwardil. Your work is always entertaing, whether I'm laughing or not, which I was at points.

  • i'm totaly confused by the talking yet entertained by it at the same time

  • yeah for dying horribly :P

Damn Frenchies and their pointless exposistion...

  • Oscar Winner performance Dude!!!

  • WOW
