does anyone know what scales and or modes hes combining pentatonic with in the beginning half? my band has a song that would work perfectly with that sound for the solo so if anyone knows do tell!
There is just no living end to the styles of music that Joe takes on and can incorporate into his gigs. This is real dedication on his part. He practices quite a bit, has to , to come up with so many styles of licks. Classical, he can play it, Rock, he can play it, Heavy Metal, he can play it, Blues, he has mastered it, both with instrument and with his voice. I'm trying to learn all I can about him by watching all the videos I can of him. I wish I would have found out about him years ago.
I totally agree with your comments. I just found out about him about a month ago when he came out and played two songs with Gov't Mule in Chicago and I was totally blown away. Both videos are on youtube, you should check them out.

that tone is beautiful! Gotta love his strat tone. Gotta lot of Eric Johnson feel to this one without being "to eric". I could only imagine the stage volume with this one. Joe is an awesome player.

Wow, a blues player learned Eric Johnson's technique. Maybe if he he keeps at it he can master George Lynch and Steve Vai too!
